Main External Monitor Not Working After Windows Update?

I had a windows eleven update and then restarted my laptop. I use 2 external monitors with it. One is a 32' 4k monitor and the other is a 24' monitor.

I noticed after I restarted it, it showed the percentage update on my 2nd external monitor. Usually whenever it does the windows update, it would show it on my laptop screen or my main external monitor. After the update, it displays my 2nd external monitor as my main monitor. My main 32' 4k samsung monitor doesn't seem to work? When I go to display option, it does show 3 monitors though.

I went to restart my laptop and after doing this, only my 2nd external monitor and my laptop screen shows a screen. My main 32' 4k monitor doesn't seem to do anything? When I click on the power button on it, all it does is show displayport on the top left corner. I can power it off as well. But why does it not display my 32' 4k monitor?

This seems to be it

So it shows my laptop screen as monitor 1 in display. Shows smaller monitor as monitor 3 in display next to it. My big monitor is monitor 2 but you can't click or drag it? So it does detect it as even device manager shows it.

But why does it not show anything? This happened right after i restart laptop for update so this isn't a cable issue etc.

What are my options now? Go to display?

The update was done very quickly, no bios update.

Also when i check the display, it shows it as display 2 and not active. So that has to be the reason right? The laptop screen and other monitor works fine and shows the display properties and resolution.

Should i uninstall the windows update? Notice when i go to updates, it shows the update i did earlier

security update for microsoft windows kb 5023706

Also it shows my previous two other security updates i did before this.

Would powering off my laptop and then unplug the power cable from the bigger monitor and laptop and plug it back in and then power on laptop be good idea? Tried that and same issue.

My bigger monitor is connected by usb c to displayport.

My smaller monitor is connected hdmi to dvi cable. The dell 20A adapter is connected to my laptop and hdmi to dvi cable is connected from there.

So this windows update caused this? Anyone can please give me advice here?

Same thing happened on my Windows laptop this morning. My fix was updating graphics driver. Mine were found here:
So the exact same thing happened to you the way i exactly way i described it?

How many external monitors you use? What laptop are you using?

Have intel iris xe and nvidia 3050. So i have to manually update the graphic driver? So the nvidia one? can i do this with windows update somehow or dell update? Or i need to manually go to site for this? But shouldn't my graphic drivers be updated already?

You can try updating the driver in Device Manager. If that doesn't work try downloading the driver from the OEM site.

Do you have an OEM computer or is it custom made? If OEM, I would check their site first for an updated driver. If not, you could try that driver.

I am pretty sure I downloaded the link I posted last time and after downloading that driver, it fixed the monitor issue. Now I have the same exact issue again. I had to download another dell firmware update as that was required to restart laptop.

Do I download from that link again? Or should I go to dell site and enter my service tag and then download the driver there? What about dell update on my laptop? Example when I run dell update it shows these are the updates

Critical Updates 2 of 2

Dell/Alienware Update Windows Universal Application May 2023

What do I do? Should I download the same intel driver link like last time and that probably fix it? Or should I download the updates with Dell Update App on laptop? Or download the driver from dell site with service tag and if so... which ones do I download?

It's possible that all of your drivers are up to date. Just to be sure, when your on the Dell site I would check to see if they list any newer updates for any devices on your computer you suspect may be causing you any problems.
