Make C:/ drive bootable

I backed up my C drive. Somehow, when I start up my PC, it boots from the USB containing the backup. How do I make my C:\ drive bootable?

I'm guessing you made a full disk backup? If so then your boot order is likely USB before your main drive. Either unplug the USB or change the boot order in firmware.

Restart your computer and as soon as you see the Lenovo logo start pressing F12.

This should go to a screen to let you select what you want to boot.

In the BIOS you should be able to change the boot priority.

If you going to change the boot device temporarily don't change it in the BIOS. Instead, when the computer boots hit the key necessary to bring up the Boot Menu. Select the device there to boot from. That way when you boot the computer again it will revert back to the original boot device.

For example, I boot the computer and bring up the Boot Menu. I select the flash drive which is G:. I boots to it.

When done I reboot the computer. It automatically boots to C: which has Windows on it.

Note which key brings up the boot menu is different for each computer brand. Sometime it changes among models also. For example, I am working on a desktop with a Gigabyte motherboard. The Delete key takes me to the BIOS. The F12 key brings up the Boot Menu. Unfortunately, the companies like to keep that information a secret. You usually have to do a little searching online to find it.

Below is a photo I took earlier in the week of the Boot Menu for a computer. When the computer was first starting I hit the F12 key.
The Boot Menu shows three options. I select which one I want.

1. Windows Boot Manager = boots to Windows on the C: drive
2. UEFI: USB = boots to the flash drive
3. Enter Setup = go into the BIOS
