Malwarebytes Premium: Trouble adding new device

Moved my system to the newer PC successfully (AFAIK), but MBAM "My Account" doesn't show any option to ADD a device. I've set the PC name from previous machine name to new one, and Premium is still showing as active on 2/3 subscriptions, but I can't find the option to enter the new machine's name as third PC and activate the license on it. Somebody here knows how, I'm sure. Thank you.

Create a support ticked on MBAM website and ask them to do it for you.

Your problem might be related to "Moved my system to the newer PC successfully . . . " You don't say how . . .

Then you renamed your new computer the same as your older computer . . .

@Porthos is an MBAM guru. I am sure he can provide you with expert guidance.

Posting over at the MB Forums is also always a good move if you have activation issues, though most often, you must open a support ticket because Forum members cannot help with subscription issues, but they can help with mastering the MBAM "My Account" proclivities and complexities.

Nope. Older was DAWHC1; newer DAWOC1.

Just activate it in the Malwarebytes GUI.

Activate using a license key​

This method requires you to have your license key, see Find my Malwarebytes license key.

If your license key has this format XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX, follow these steps:​

1. Open the Malwarebytes application.
2. In the top right corner of the Dashboard, click Activate Subscription.
3. Click Enter license key.
4. Under License key, enter your key.
   Note: The Activate license button becomes clickable when a valid license key is entered into the corresponding field.
5. Click Activate.

If your license key has this format XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX and has a license ID with the format XXXXX or XXXXX-XXXXX, follow these steps:​

1. Open the Malwarebytes application.
2. In the top right corner of the Dashboard, click Activate Subscription.
3. Click Enter license key.
4. Below the License Key entry, select My license came with a License ID.
5. Enter your License ID and License Key.
   Note: The Activate license button becomes clickable when valid license key and ID are entered into the corresponding fields.
6. Click Activate.

To verify the activation was successful, Premium displays in the top-left corner of the application.

Here's the prob, @Porthos, it's active on this machine, but under the older machine's name (DAWHC1). Now I'm going to boot the old DAWHC1 soon with a new set of disks, taken from my somewhat older DAWQC4, where MBAM is activated. MBAM won't be activated on QC4 once I install a new set of SSDs and give it a new W10 OS for my wife, whose PC is now 9 years old, and a four/five-year-old one will be a step up for now, unitl I can get her a new PC.

Currently, My Account shows 2/3 PCs activated, HEMPC1 and DAWHC1, I took DAWQC4 off the list. Now I want to add OC1 to the list, but can't see how on the site.

Activate Malwarebytes as I instructed. This is computer number 3 correct?

It will add itself to your account.

Yep. But there ain't no Activate Subscription, onaccounta the subscription is already actiavated on this machine -- but with the wrong machine name, so according to MWB, I still have only two activated, and when I next boot DAWHC1 (the real one) it has the deactivated DAWQC4 on it.

Deactivate on the computer you are retiring inside the program.

How did you transfer the OS to the new machine? I did not go back to your old posts to look.

QC4 will become HC1 when I next boot and change the comp name. I'm copying the system over from one to the other. I already deactivated on QC4, so now I'm showing on the site as having two activations: my wife's PC and this one, but this one is incorrectly called HC1 instead of OC1. I want to wind up with HEMPC1, DAWHC1, and DAWOC1 all registered and activated.

Done already, so I'm showing 2/3.

Imaged the HC1 System drive and restored it to OC1, and promptly changed the comp name to OC1. With minor glitches, the transfer worked really well. All I'm dealing with now are artifacts from the previous corporate owner.

The online account takes time to catch up with the rename.
You can manually change the name in the online account.

Okay, I hadn't tried that, but now I have tried it, and the site accepted the new name, but the app doesn't show the change. Restart needed, perhaps? Wait 24 hours? What?

If it does not show the change soon, If it was my computer I would do a clean install with the support tool.

It worked. A restart of MBAM gave me the comp name I wanted. Now I still have 2/3 active licenses, and when I boot HC1, tomorrow, I can activate MBAM on it. Tx again.
