Many Laptop computers are adding Micro Memory Cards storage slots.

Many computer Mfg. of Laptop computers are adding Micro Memory Cards storage slots on their systems, they are not using the older larger memory card slots.
Is this something new i just never notice it before, nothing wrong with this, as i have used them for years in tablets.

I sure am glad that my new iPhone has the new usb-c for charging, i have two iPhones with the older system fail and having no way to charge them.

I only have one computer that has card reader. It is a SD card reader. However, some MicroSD cards like shown below include a MicroSD Card to SD adapter. I use this adapter to read/write MicroSD cards with this computer. For my other computers I use a MicroSD card to USB adapter to read/write MicroSD cards.

The MicroSDXC cards I buy come with the SD adapter and I also have a USB-A adapter for the MicroSDXC. One of these days I'll order an adapter like the one here:

Until then I'll use the USB-A to USB-C adapters or USB-C to USB-A adapters I have. I have 1 HP Notebook with USB-C and HP Desktop with USB-C and Dell Desktop with USB-C ports.

I dislike the slots as they leave the card protruding and it's a disaster waiting to happen IMHO.

In my new MSI Stealth it does not have any part sticking out after it clicks into the slot, just as the larger cards have done for years making you have to use a thumb nail to unsnap them.

Yes, that's how it should be. On an ASUS it just pushes in, no clicking, and stays proud of the edge. :nope:

My HP Intel CPU desktop has both a card reader and a USB-C connector.

Not sure about the card reader, but my teaching desktop at the Senior Activity Center has USB-C.

My 15.6" HP has both a card reader and USB-C.

Of course, I can use the card with the micro card in the ones with the card reader.

I just noticed it on the tablet just a really small icon of a micro disk near the slot, i had an empty micro card so i installed it and it is now shown in the disk tree.
