This is all abought AIO to AIR using AIDA64 I am running AIDA64 and am running multiple apps and keeping a steady 45c for the last approximant 45 minutes. I'm waiting to see if it alters and it's a bit longer but its steady at at 45c. This is the mark. A minimum of 45 minutes and keep below 45c or match. Lets see if you can keep up with My results. Lets see yours.

I don't believe that temperature. Do you have all fans blowing at max?

Either you have a very cold house, you have fans blowing at max all the time or Aida test with that configuration does not stress the CPU cores enough or there is something else wrong...

Try Prime95 stress test. If you don't hit over 80C within 10 minutes, there is something wrong. I have that same cooler on an i7-7700k and the cooler can't keep up in that test.

I know for a fact that if I run Prime95 and Furmark at the same time I get about 15C lover temps than with just Prime95 going.

OK I ran Prime95 for 12 minutes and yes my temps did clime a bit. And NO I am not running my fans at full tilt.

Aah I see now, you're limited to 125W TDP. Mine goes up to 280W @4.8GHz which is way beyond the "rated" TDP.

The cooler can handle about 250W if I recall correctly

I'm not even going to try.

I'm good to run 45C at idle much less with tasks running for 45 minutes. I'll play The Lords of the Fallen for an hour and start getting temps into the low-to-mid 70s. All is good, though. That's still below the max temp recommendations.

I really don't need any more then that. I built this rig because I wanted to have an Over The Top rig. And it is over the top for me. In your post #4 you said "I don't believe that temperature. Do you have all fans blowing at max?" That got me thinking if I have all fans at max... What would my temps be??? I'm going to run it with all fans at max right now. I'll be back in 10. Well the results are interesting. Picture says a thousand words.

I don't know but I think that it's impressive. So let see what the temps look like without FanControl. I am not manipulating at all. It's just the system. I'll be back in 10.

Well this is without FanControl and just letting the system protect itself. I think this is still impressive. Anyone care to even try to come close??? Anyone. I'm open for it! Here's my results. I specifically Challenge AIO. I Dare ya!

It's been a long time... but I think Small FFTs generate the most heat in Prime95.

When you first start the program, choose: Just Stress Testing, then this Windows pops up...

Blend will do "all of the above", but it takes a long time to get to... "all of the above".
Normally, when overclocking, you'd run Prime for like 24 hours.
The various FFTs stress different things.

Warning: When Prime crashes (like during an overclock), it can corrupt some system files.
So make sure you have a fresh backup.

Normally, when overclocking... Prime will crash at 1 hour, or 3 hours... or hopefully, it'll last 24 hours.
If it does... you then know that you're rock solid stable, and your overclock is perfect.

It's supposed to simulate the maximum stress that your CPU or RAM will ever run into.

But... since you're just testing your cooling... and not overclocking... your system should be pretty stable.

Prime95's major purpose is to find new Prime numbers. Everything else is secondary.
It works as a good stress tester as well, because of all the numbers it crunches.
Which, in turn, makes it a great overclockers stress test.

So... for testing cooling, you'd want small FFTs

FFT stands for.... Fast Fourier Transform

FFT acronym

Remember: When you're done playing with Prime95, you need to "end task" in Task Manager. Even if Prime95 doesn't seem to be running.

Also... you're supposed to wear a leather jacket and chew a toothpick, when you run Prime95.
Because... even though you're running Prime95, you're still....... cool.

Your 125W explains everything. Don't worry, if you're happy the way it is, we're also happy. It's a great cooler and I don't get any overheating issues either on normal load like games or other CPU demanding tasks. Also my rig is dead silent.
