Media Player version 11.2401.2.0. Is there a way to get rid of the "could not complete the rip" message?

Yes, I do still have it - and this is "funny": Some discs would give me that message and I have had 2 so far, that have worked on MP when they didn't on Legacy. Did someone in this thread mention a newer MP yet?
So much for Tried, Tested and True!!!
Sorry man, I don't know what to say... 🤷‍♂️

Nothing to say and no apology needed, Edwin. I do miss being able to actually set the speed of the rip, don't you?

Been so long I can't remember! :woozy:
I think I left that at default.
I don't even have an Optical Drive at the moment.

I skimmed back through the thread, I couldn’t see it mentioned. Have you tried restorehealth yet?

Open search on your PC, type CMD. Open CMD as admin. Type (or copy and paste) the following command:

Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Press enter and be patient.

Could always try a different program as well.
I've had 100% success with foobar.
The .wav's were ripped with foobar, the mp3's were ripped with WMP, no problem with either...

Hey Edwin. Why are your Handel Organ Concertos labelled Wang Chung: To Live And Die In LA? 😉😊 Short-term memory is the pits (for me), but every now and then I can catch something which piques my interest.

antspants, I had totally forgotten that tool existed! Thanks! I ran it just a bit ago, and everything checked out. If that program made any corrections, though, how would I know?

I’d suppose no errors would remain. I think there is a way to pause the process after it is run. Did the window close before you could read it?

No, it stayed open. "The Restore operation completed successfully." "The operation completed successfully". And that was all.

Perhaps
Code:
SFC /scannow
Pre restore health to show discrepancies next time?
If not independently, I believe scannow is run within the restorehealth

Not sure about the above. I ran "scannow" and got a list of items that it does, but no errors that it fixed. Is this what you meant, ap?

Wolken,

I urge you to use Option 3 of the SFC tutorial to post any errors that were not repaired.
SFC - ElevenForumTutorials

This will produce a text file list of SFC entries.
Look at the dates-times and delete those before your last SFC run.
That will leave a text file that is small enough to paste into this thread.
{Just copy & paste the entries from Notepad. Attaching the file itself is less visible & hence less useful.}

I took it through all the way to sfc details, and see nothing. It just went back to the original prefix and sat there, blinking, so there is nothing to send.

It is supposed to create a text file in the folder you have told it to in your command [your Desktop folder].
The cmd prompt itself does not show anything of interest [unless there's an error in the command].

All I meant was, there was no information on that page. As far as the CMD PROMPT, I did exactly as the directions stated, but there is nothing. I right and left clicked on various choices.

You want me to send you a screenshot? Really?
