Microsoft somehow rejected me from the Insider program back to the release version, I decided to stay there. Contrary to the popular opinion, I didn't have to reinstall from scratch. I was just doing a WU run and when it was over, I was back on the release version and no trace of ever being in the Insider program!

I decided I'll let other people alpha test and beta test Windows, it's flaky enough in the released version! :p :p :lmao:

I, at this time, still have all my cells white in my personal files. I know that they can be formatted to however one wishes, but I stayed white, I guess mostly for simplicity. I am going to look and see if I have any of my old work Excel files where I did all this formatting - you would like it, "maybe" lol. Not sure if I still have any left and not sure if what I may have can go public 🤔 , I will look for fun.

This one that I picked to show here has lots of other formatting, but I don't know how to display the cell blurred, like you did. I am really into the formulas - that's where the real fun is. By no means am I as talented as there is out there, but I do a little.

The thing that irks me is, Word will write in dark or light mode but won't save in dark mode!
Excel will, but they won't let peasant users like me have the feature!!! :cool:

Well, that's messed up for sure. I just checked my (365) Word and it does not have that save issue you speak of. But I think that I would not worry too much about that. Think about the $70.00 to $100.00 a year you save each year over me. I really, really hate having Office as a subscription. You are in a better place there than I am...

So..., I wasted tomorrow's lunch money and bought another 365 subscription and, sure enough, Excel inverts the dark/light UI properly, and, saves the desired mode as a thumbnail...

Apparently, Excel's Dark Mode focuses on the UI and Grid, while Word is just a canvas!
I don't why they couldn't implement the feature into Word! 🤷‍♂️

Did I say something incorrectly that made you just now get 365 - boy I sure hope not. When I change/switch to dark mode, I am using "View" in the title bar to change the "Ribbon". Then I click the "Dark Mode" switch in the ribbon. I don't know if it behaves differently when one does it the way you do it, one would think not. I am feeling a little funny all of a sudden.

I sure hope the heck that I did not speak incorrectly, and that made you get 365 for nothing. Please say that is not what I just did. 😐

There's not that much difference, except maybe in Excel..., most of the updated features, for the last 6 months or so, landed in Excel and OneNote.
