Fair pointI have not seen people complaining that they have to use Google on Android or Apple on iPhone.
Besides using MS account helps to improve your privacy, you can easily remove your history and such.
I have used a MSA since Windows 10 was released. It is not a problem to me, but it is to many others. Being forced to use anything is just not right, in any society. People have choices that is why Linux exists. I used Linux a great deal in the 90's and early 2000's and it is very stable. It is not the end of the world, it is just one more freedom that is being taken away. Those that have a real problem with it will find an alternative. One does not need MS, Google, Chrome or any other company that is a Monopoly.Phrases like It's a matter of being pressured to the point of force that I'm against and I have no use for a Microsoft Account and trying to force something down my throat are these sort of emotional grandstanding comments popular among the anti-maskers and anti-vaxxers. Say and feel how you will, but as a linguist I find it kind of silly.
You have no use for a Microsoft account? Okay. I have no use for floss the breaks too easily. Or an ugly car. Or the flavor vanilla. Or anything to do with HARRY POTTER, STAR WARS, and LOTRs. Stating this doesn't make it important.
Is Microsoft doing something shocking and unheard of? I need a Gmail account to do anything with Google. I need an Apple ID for Apple Music. I need all sorts of accounts to pay my bills.
Stuff being forced down your throat, ey? Isn't that a normal day on planet Earth? Everyone is trying to force their interests or agenda down my throat. Why this very thread attempts to shove an idea down my throat that... really... isn't the end of the world.
I have a Microsoft account. And I've lived to tell the tale.
That's the only reason I don't sign-in when setting up a new OS. One shouldn't have to setup a new user just to correct something MS could easily fix.I don't have a problem with an MS account...,

When you set up a user account and use your MS Email address it uses the first 5 characters of your email addy for the user folder nameNot clear on what you mean here?
What he said...When you set up a user account and use your MS Email address it uses the first 5 characters of your email addy for the user folder name
You know I never noticed that because ironically the first part of my email address is "admin", thus I always assumed "admin" was a default user accountWhen you set up a user account and use your MS Email address it uses the first 5 characters of your email addy for the user folder name
Once the install is finished one of the first things, I do is sign-in to my MS Account. I don't understand why MS doesn't give us the option to choose our username when first setting up the OS.You know I never noticed that because ironically the first part of my email address is "admin", thus I always assumed "admin" was a default user account
Regardless, I have no issues with using a Microsoft account. That's me.
That's a good point, though I thought this option was there for a local account setup, but I don't know since I only use MSA.I don't understand why MS doesn't give us the option to choose our username when first setting up the OS.
When setting up with a local account you can choose your username. If you use a MS account, your username will be the first 5 characters of your email. That's a good point, though I thought this option was there for a local account setup, but I don't know since I only use MSA.
