I'm not sure if it was mentioned in the early posts, but Windows 11 Home requires an account and a PIN or PW. It's not (that) big of a deal. I just created a "dummy" ~~Hotmail~~ Outlook account.

Yes, it has. The worry is that Pro will soon require the same, it already does in the latest Insider builds. However, there are known workarounds that let you set up Home with just a local account, and should work for Pro too should that come to pass.

I'm on latest insider builds of W11 Pro and I haven't been force to use an Ms account.

Try doing a clean install of Insider build 22557 or later. It's at the OOBE stage that Pro now requires an internet connection and a MS account.

With a workaround identified as well. I believe there will always be a workaround to use as some corporations and agencies will not tolerate this requirement if Microsoft attempts to impose it upon them - the US Government being one.

True, but if setting up to join a domain then there's no requirement for a Microsoft account, that's only a requirement when setting up for personal use.

And, so far, by selecting to join a domain, there is no requirement to actually....well join a domain. But there is also the oobe\bypassnro command that can be used to set up for personal use with a local account and without internet.

Thanks. I'll keep my eyes open. I've gotten used to entering my 4 digit PIN now. But initially, I was upset that Home insisted I have a PIN to access my laptop. I believe I tried the workarounds and I couldn't get pass the PIN or PW requirement, at least not after W11 was installed.
