Hi there, I was browsing my security settings and came across the above, it seems to offer more protection (isolated browsing) but to do so it asks you to install 'Microsoft defender application guard'.

When I go to install it, the option is greyed out like the picture below, I suspect i may need to activate something else, anyone any ideas? :)

You have Hyper-V disabled and the guard is basically a sandbox working in VM.
You can install a companion app or an extension for Firefox/Chrome though.

You'll have to lower the RAM and processor requirements to turn on Microsoft Defender Application Guard:

HKLM\software\Microsoft\Hvsi\SpecRequiredMemoryInGB

HKLM\software\Microsoft\Hvsi\SpecRequiredProcessorCount

Create a D32 word value and set it to 1 - with Regedit. Then go to Programs, click Windows features, check the boxes for Hyper-V and Microsoft Defender Application Guard. Allow Windows to install required files and reboot when requested.

Upon reboot, when Windows has completed installation of the files and upon login, go to the Microsoft Store and find and install the Microsoft Defender Application Guard Companion app.

Launch the app. It will open in Microsoft Edge. You're now running in a sandboxed environment. Install Microsoft Defender Application Guard extensions for Chrome and Firefox. Be aware you will need to reboot your PC to enable the Microsoft Defender Application Guard extension in Chrome to take effect.

Now you should enjoy secure browsing with hardware-enabled virtualisation on your PC.
