Picasa, wow i'd forgotten about this! I last used this in school maybe around 11 years ago( Probably not the version you're using but picasa none the less). Cool good to see people still using it!
I am a Picasa user since 2015.
I just use it as a viewer. It's simple, lite, free and still works offline.

ImageGlass was my go to but, it's gotten bulkier lately!

Not to mention the fact, one day MS will state: "On Sept. 15, 2022, you will no longer be able to use the legacy Windows Photo Viewer..." :nope:
(or something to that effect!)
Bad news. I didn't know. My (both) sisters are WPV (Win Photo Viewer) users on their Win 10. AFAIK they can't live without it! I don't use WPV anymore on Win 11. I have switched to "Photos App" for about six months and use it as a viewer and simple editor. I don't use it as a photo organizer. Another best viewer is (IMO the fastest one) ACDSee 2.44 Classic (check out the load time, SS below). About ten years ago, I was googling to find a super lite and fast photo viewer for my daily use, and I met ACDSee Classic (I don't use it on Win 11).

Actually, for quick view, I rely on QTTabBar, it allows viewing/listening various media on mouse hover...
... other than that, it's Picasa.

I am not familiar with QTTabBar. I think it works like "Adobe Bridge" and "Mac OS" (open "Bridge" then browse photos inside it, and by hovering over an image, you have a preview). On "Mac" (AFAIK), you can have a preview by selecting an image and pressing the SpaceBar.

SC (screen capture) app that does what I need is FSCapture (Fast Stone). The only SC app that can capture scrolling windows. It also captures scrolling elements inside the browser. I didn't find any other "SC" app to be able to do that.

I regret updating to the new version (2206) :woozy:. Since I use the Photos app regularly, I have reverted to the previous version (2021, redesigned Photos app!).

Reasons:
1- My muscle memory has conflict (!) with new responsive (centre and left alignment) common shortcuts.
2- Microsoft has moved the most important shortcut to the 3-dot menu. They moved the File Information shortcut (very important for me) from the toolbar to the 3-dot!
3- Shortcuts (in the toolbar) disappear when you resize the Photos app window to a small size.
4- Microsoft has deleted the Delete option from the right-click and 3-dot menu.
5- New menu has nonsense touch spaces. The old one has a compact menu (I love it). It also has a scrollbar in any Photos app window size (That is saying I am scrollbar! I am always here, either you need me or not!).
6- New version (2206) again has a problem with cropping.
7- The file name is not always showing (when resizing the window, it disappears).

ss7.png

The only problem I have with the 2021 version is the always-on (active) Floating Toolbar and Filmstrip. It would be great If there was an option to disable it (like SS below).

This particular Build of Photo App doesn't like my Epson or Adobe printers... I'm getting the "Win32 error code returned by the print processor: 5. Access is denied." error. These printers do work in Photoshop, Microsoft Paint or Explorer.exe Context menu print command. Only the Photo App they don't work correctly. If I uninstall the Epson Printer Driver and use the "Microsoft IPP Class Driver" the printer works normally although a ton of features are lost. Any ideas?

"This is an especially frequent issue for the Windows Server platforms. It can be due to the printer‘s driver, insufficient RAM or the spooler receiving invalid data."

You can also downgrade to the older version (previous Photos App version).

Everything was fine until version Microsoft Photos 2022.31060.3004.0 installed about 2 weeks ago. I don't have any issues printing using other applications either, only Microsoft Photos 2022.31060.3004.0... the previous version of Photos was working perfectly. Far as downgrading... I'm not sure how get the previous version as it probably would fix my issue.

Works fine on an HP printer.
As a possible workaround select Microsoft print to PDF then print the PDF. Not ideal but the next Photos app update might fix it.

@HHH03 another fix you might want to try is uninstall Photos and reinstall.

Windows Terminal admin PowerShell copy and paste Get-AppxPackage *photos* | Remove-AppxPackage
that removes it then reinstall from Store.

Photo App doesn’t print with the Epson driver installed… but will work fine using the Microsoft IPP driver… except paper types, special features aren’t available. This is the first time I’ve had any problem printing using Photo App. Paint app works perfectly as does Explorer.exe context menu printing.

Microsoft Print to PDF works perfectly, Adobe PDF printer doesn't work as the save file location doesn't pop up at all like the Microsoft Print to PDF does. Same error as the Epson driver... "Win32 error code returned by the print processor: 5. Access is denied." Maybe the Photo App has a permissions issue somewhere. Like I've mentioned... I only have these problems printing within Photo App.
