Microsoft Photos App New Update

Is this update available for everyone? I've tried via Microsoft Store, but I don't get it.

The official version (2022.31100.24013.0) released last night. Nothing new, but the icon problem has been solved. The new icon (image file type icons):

Feedback Hub hasn't been listening... this new Photo App scrambled my entire library! Photos taken 10 years ago are showing up as being taken in last few weeks. Photos Legacy always displayed everything correctly.

still a halfdone app, MS needs to fire the app team and get a real one.....

I have an iPhone… it uses QuickTime .MOV format for videos. Try adjusting the media creation date on a PC… Windows will throw a read only error. That ability was broken sometime in mid 2020 adjusting .MOV created dates.

the new photos app has this issues....

1: when you use the viewer the window start always from a specific plasement even when you maximize it doesnt save the proper potision state
2: at the left category section when you click the 3 lines to minimize that whole mess the setting doent save either so you need to redo it every single time you open the app, at least the photo apps has it and music app force to have the whole space wasted...

so some maybe nothing, but if you gonna make an app or upgrade the looks of it you need to do it right its vital!

I don't use the library. If it shows ten years ago photo as a new photo (!), the photo/video date has been changed during copying/moving into the PC. It is faster now (less lag on startup), and the red "Delete" and "Open in File Explorer" in RC are great. The only thing that bothers me is "Filmstrip" (I hate that). I can't understand why they don't put a toggle key in Settings to disable it forever! Another option that I like a lot is iCloud support (in the latest version). I don't have iPhone or MAC! But that's useful for me (almost half of the people around me are in MAC ecosystem).

Me either! To organize (not as a photo viewer ) my photos and personal works. Photos app as photo viewer (just viewer, not browser/organizer).

if you tweak it and customize it, it can do wonders!

i tried most paid and freeware but the one had me!
use ACDSee Photo Studio Ultimate 2023 but im not that photo enthusiast just needed a fast customazable app!

XnView is good, FastStone is good, ImageGlass is good...,

I guess I use Picasa cuz it's abandonware and does nothing except work.

However, most often, for quick viewing, I'll just do the QTTabBar mouse hover thing..., instant!

If you like, I can suggest a super fast photo viewer! ACDSee classic 2.4 (you can't believe how much it is fast! 1.5 MB). I had it on Win 7.

That's a minimalistic version of Lr (Adobe Lightroom)! All of those options and such a big size for nothing! I had a try for a newer version (newer than ACDSee Classic) in less than one hour, that was bloatware!

i setup acdsee home 2023 to retest it and tweak it seems to keep it for a while

How do you work with that?! I would use only the "Viewer" mode (if I have that), not the main app!! Though it's nonsense (you install a fat boy just for using his kids )! Try Classic v2.4 ...
