Missing activity history

Hello guys,
I am new to this forum. I just upgraded from Win 10 - did a clean install using the "Clean Install Windows 11" tutorial by Brink.
I am just getting used to windows 11 and i have a question:

In windows 10 i did a weekly cleanup including:

• Cleared browser history
• Cleared search history in windows
• Cleared recent folders in file explorer
• Cleared activity history

I did find the activity history settings:

but i only have the option to turn it on or off (it is ON). There is no option to delete activity history like the image below

Any guesses to why am i mssing activity history?

It should be there, unless some other application disabled it or took control. Anyway, there are third-party tools to clean stuff, such as CCleaner.

Yes, it should be there, right? I don't have any application that have disabled it or taken control over it.
My guess is that i, inadvertenly, changed some settings in my account (privacy or security perhaps) that "disabled" it.
I was hoping somebody could point me in the right direction.

No errors in either DISM or sfc so i'm guessing it's ok? Am i correct in activity history generally being disabled/removed in win 11?

I do use Ccleaner and /or Glary - but i haven't installed those apps yet.

How did you change the security settings? Manually? If you have used a utility such as Windows Shutup, it should have an "undo changes" option or "restore defaults". Also see if this tutorial helps: Reset All Local Group Policy Settings to Default in Windows 11

I didn't change any settings on purpose, but maybe i answered "no" to something during setup that now prevents the activity history.

If this is for a Microsoft account, then you can also clear your activity history from the Privacy Dashboard online like in option two of the tutorial below.

Try to reset Group Policy settings to default.

Thanks for the welcome and for the suggestion, Brink. I did find your tutorial and did see the different options (the link in your reply is not for the right tutorial btw). Yes, win 11 is installed with microsoft account. I was just wondering why there was an option to turn activity history on/off on my local machine but no option to clear the activity history - i was worried that maybe something was wrong with the way i did the clean install.

That is a bit over my level of comfort. I need to read up on what that entails for the rest of the system, but i'll keep it in mind.
For now, i'll leave it as it is. I just wondered why "clear history" was missing from activity history . Thanks.

If a group policy has disabled clearing the activity history (most likely), resetting them to default should fix it.
