Monitor enters standby but then immediately wakes

Had it for years, replaced once under warranty

I've noticed in the last few days that as soon as the monitor enters standby it wakes up again (backlight and power indicator on). Nothing displayed until I move the mouse or hit a key, then it shows the lock screen as normal

Until a few days ago I didn't have this problem, nothing has changed and I've done no driver or other updates

This isn't a PC wake/sleep issue - if the PC goes to sleep it stays asleep as does the monitor

I found something on the internet you could try. A Windows shortcut to switch to another screen (Windows Key + P)

also found this on Reddit that helped some users: It look like a fairly new setting.

Open Device Manager:

Right-click on the Start menu and select Device Manager from the list.

Navigate to System Devices:

In the Device Manager window, scroll down and expand the System Devices category.

Find Intel Management Engine Interface:

Look for Intel Management Engine Interface in the list of system devices.

Access Properties:

Right-click on Intel Management Engine Interface and select Properties from the context menu.

Adjust Power Management Settings:

In the Properties window, go to the Power Management tab.

Modify Power Settings:

Check the box labeled Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power if it isn’t already checked. If it's checked and you're experiencing issues, try unchecking it.

Apply Changes:

Click OK to apply the changes and close the Properties window.

Restart Your Computer:

Restart your computer to ensure the new settings take effect.

Well this is strange. I powered the monitor off completely with the on/off switch, then switched it back on.

Now it's behaving properly again and stays in stand-by when it's meant to

Weird glitch with an unknown cause🤔

I had the same problem with an ASUS monitor with a DVI-D connector. At one point, I even thought the problem was with the graphics card. It’s well known that over time, the cable or even the connector itself can fail. I fixed it by replacing the cable and being careful not to bend it too much, because that can damage some of the internal wires, specifically those that control standby mode of the monitor.

I don't think that would work with my problem - as soon as it went to sleep it woke up again. Doesn't matter how it gets the 'sleep' command
Seems ok now though since I power-cycled the monitor

It seems to be a weird lockscreen bug.
If I turn of the slideshow and just use a picture, the screen will power off after a minute or so if the pc is locked
If I don't lock it the screen will power off after it's set time (5 minutes)
If I use the lockscreen slideshow it will power off but then immediately wake again

I'm not using any 3rd party app to control the lock screen

Makes no difference, if the lockscreen slideshow is running the screen will immediately wake, if it's just on Picture it will stay asleep after the elapsed time

Windows update today - the lockscreen appears to be working properly.

Switched the screen saver back to Slideshow, monitor went off after 30 minutes and stayed off 👍
