*Use the Lenovo Vantage software to update if you have it*

- Did you reinstall or upgrade your graphics driver? I would recommend you use the specific Graphics Driver from Lenovo and not from Nvidia.

- Try disabling Fast Boot and Secure Boot if able, in your BIOS.
- Whilst you’re there; Check the BIOS in your Laptop and look for settings related to Power Management.

- Do you have the latest BIOS/firmware for your laptop?

Hey I just found this? What is different from last time’s cure to your problem. Installing 3rd Party Software, maybe?

Sleep/display problem

win11 will not turn off the display no matter the settings. Also, it won't go to sleep no matter the settings. Thought maybe 3rd party app or something was preventing it but I tried booting into safe mode but the results were the same. Any ideas on what to look for? Similar threads on sleeping...

Also, be careful what you install, all these extra gadgets and apps can be really detrimental.
Also, it would of been helpful if you linked us to your original post so as to save us from suggesting the same old remedies.

Because if it’s not the laptop itself and all these suggestions (and or removal of Tobii) aren’t helping, it could just be an Operating System glitch?

On my Lenovo legion 5 it was never listed in the programs and features. It's built into the system somehow I guess. At any rate, I will never buy another Lenovo machine because of this.

I've tried everything I can think of and I'd bet my life that an in place upgrade will not fix it. I'm almost positive Lenovo has this tobii rubbish built into the system somehow.
I have a Macrium image so I will try a fresh install and see what happens. I can always get back to where I am now with Macrium.

I can assure you, Lenovo isn’t going to provide, on a new machine, anything that would be detrimental to it’s own system. That would be ridiculous.

If anything, a conflict with something you have installed or a Windows Update conflict.

If you have installed something since buying the laptop, perhaps it is conflicting with Tobii on your gaming machine. I’ve never bought a gaming machine so I have never had Tobii installed.

And I am not positive you are 100% sure that it is Tobii that is the problem here.

But have you tried everything that has been suggested? This seems to be a problem for you yet you also seem unwilling to try suggestions. I see no no reply to anything I have suggested in response to each process. And you are pre judging my last suggestion without any willingness to attempt it to find out. The worst that can happen is it doesn’t work, apparently like everything else.

One last thing, this is the 3rd (or 4th?) thread you have made about this issue.
In one thread from Feb last year, you were advised to take the Laptop back because you said it was still under warranty. It would of been a good option.
Aldo, Lenovo service would of connected to you remotely to investigate the issue.

Already had revo uninstaller installed and tried it. Did a full scan and removed everything it found. The sob gets re-installed somehow.
This experience has convinced me to NEVER buy a Lenovo product again.

if so it maybe using your camara to turn itself back on.

an add on to the good advice above.

disable system restore.
turn off the swap file and restart the system.

after the system has restarted.

then .. reinstall the software.
use revo uninstaller to remove the program.

then open the device manager and remove any entry for robii thats there.
then use ccleaner to rescan the registry.

restart to see if all is well, if so, then reenable system restore and the swap file.
a restart will be needed again after this.

Firstly, try what XxXxX and I have suggested.

Moving forward:

Did you install Tobii yourself? Because as much as it comes on some Lenovo Gaming Laptops it doesn’t come on all.

Where I see some laptops at Lenovo have the Tobii software on the laptops support page under “Software” I don’t see it on yours. taking in mind, you still don’t really know 100% if it is Tobii causing this issue.

If you really want to find out if the laptop has an issue due to the Lenovo proprietary install:

Make a backup image of your PC (I believe in another thread you said you have one?)
Reset (or fresh install) your PC so as you have Windows 11 install without Lenovo bloatware, just bare bones Windows.
See if your issue persists

I don’t see many if any complaints about Tobii, I do read posts where it is utilised by people for gaming.

Have you at any point in your other threads fixed this?
Is this problem sporadic and can you pinpoint a moment in time that it starts?
Does it start after you install something or is it random?
Returning the PC whilst it was under warranty, or contacting the support team that is available during warranty would of been wise, but you didn’t so we must move on from that. Unless it is still under warranty, but laptops only come with 2 years?

You don’t want to try an in-place upgrade. So there are three other options:

Reset
Reinstall
Use the Lenovo recovery (unless you removed it)

I do know it is 100% due to tobii. It came pre-installed and like I said I thank all of you for your ideas but I am done with this crapola lenovo laptop. I think I might buy a liquid cooled pc.

That is entirely up to you. A liquid cooled PC would be great and even better if you could get the latest hardware on offer. You could have an AI run robot in your office.

Giving up is easy, I know you can fix this if it isn’t a hardware issue.
Please try reinstalling without the proprietary bloatware. It’s a decent laptop, if not for you, someone would really appreciate it.

It is possible to go back to a factory reset but I bet I'd be in the same situation. This tobii is built into this lenovo laptop and they will never see me buy a lenovo again because of this issue. It really is disgusting the way the vendors shove crap down your throat.

Then do the factory reset and use Revo to uninstall Tobii. But you probably don’t really need to.
Again, I’ve not seen issues regaurding Tobii complained about in mass.

I would guess, if you still have this issue after a reset, it’s a hardware problem. You can check the trouble shooting link I posted above for Lenovo, or I think there is a Lenovo Diag app available. Probably the same thing.

Don’t forget to backup your stuff.
