Moving From Boot Manager to Lock Screen

Greetings,

I am in the process of installing a dual boot Windows 11 system. I am to the point where drivers are installed and customizations, including Personalization, are set up. Both installs have the Lock Screen set to Windows Spotlight. In addition, both installs are updated to the same build (see bottom of post).

In one install, after I click on the OS partition I want to open in Boot Manager (if it's default), it goes without delay, to the lock screen picture. If the other is default, and I choose it; it moves to a dark screen, the time shows for a split second, the screen goes black for about 2 seconds and then the lock screen appears.

This is not major aggravation. I am just concerned that there is possibly something corrupt in the one OS, that should be corrected. Any thoughts would be most appreciated.

You are not telling us much about the hardware configuration.
Assuming you have installed the same OS on different partitions/drives,
is the faster boot on the same drive/SSD as the OS?
If yes, you have your answer.
If no, there are plenty of threads you can look for that will tell you how to tackle
potential system corruption.

Both OSs are installed on the same 1TB drive. Space allocated as follows:
-EFI System partition
-MSR partition
-OS 1 partition
-OS 2 partition
-WinRE partition
-data partition
-data partition

Both OS installations are operation without issue after login. The issue is getting to the lock screen on OS 1. I was unable to find much specific about issues getting from the boot manager to the lock screen.

hello Graham,
This is a rather difficult one to diagnose.
There are no errors being displayed to the user, just a few seconds of delay/black screen.
you could always try to dig in the event viewer log on the 'slower' OS and see if anything of significance
is present. Other than that, it's a tough one to call, especially via a forum.
