Solved Dual boot Windows 11 & Windows 11 causes a double restart before loading boot manager

So far I've have done many restarts and shutdowns going in one Windows 11 install and then another and the legacy menu has stayed.

Seems if you don't remove the Fast Boot it will want to resort back to the new Windows Boot Menu (Blue Screen) but now the mission is complete and this is FINALLY OVER. Thanks to you fine gentlemen.

Hello everyone! I am trying to achieve the a rather similar goal as him but I intend to install another windows 11 pro on the second SSD.
Can anyone tell me how I can achieve this? (I have opened the case to insert the SSD already)

To mention again, my goal is very similar to his, "I want one SSD for work purposes (windows 11 pro) and I want the other SSD for home use and gaming."

To be completely honest, I am still learning how to do this so I would appreciate some guidance.
Also my other concerns are if I can hide (or disconnect?) the SSD for home use when I launch the windows 11 pro on the work SSD?
I don't want it to be accessible or seen! (note that the SSDs are both internal and taking out is not an ideal solution)
Will it even be possible to have two versions of windows 11, both having a license key installed in one laptop? Will it cause any issues?

Yes. You mean Editions not versions.

Not hard to install a different edition to a separate disk, then use one time boot menu to select which disk to boot into.

I am not sure about hiding them unless you can disable them in bios one at a time.

Will I be able to partition the second SSD before installing the windows 11 pro edition? Is it recommend to partition? Intending to use the extra space as a shared SSD.

What is the sense of having a Home and a Pro Edition of Windows, if you can have 2 Pro Editions?
Just insert the valid Pro-Key into your Home-Edition, reboot and you are ready!
The additional WIN-Installation will be a PRO as well!
If you are a "Greenhorn" with such simple questions don't operate your System with 2 EFI-Partitions!
You will not be able to troubleshoot it.
Insert your 2nd disk

You don't need an USB-Drive.
1. You can extract the ISO to a Folder: C:\WIN
2. Copy the attached file par.txt to this folder
3. Boot into your Recovery-Partition cmd (admin) reagentc /boottore
open command prompt and run:
diskpart
list disk
the new disk should be No.1
list par ==> there should not be any partition
list vol ==> your current Win installation should be (C:)
exit

4. type DiskPart /s C:\Win\Par.txt
after a few seconds the disk is prepared for the new installation
5. type cd /d C:\Win
6. setup.exe
7. select the new partition (128 GB) for the installation.

Yes. I would use diskgenius free version.

Assuming your current installation is in efi mode :

1. Intialize the second disk gpt. Then create esp and msr partitions. The remaining unallocated space can be partitioned and formatted ntfs for windows. Takes less than a minute to do that.

2. then apply the image from install.wim to the newly created windows partition. Depending on the write speed of the new disk, it takes perhaps 2-3 minutes to apply the image

3. after that use bcdboot command to populate the esp partition you created on the new disk which takes a few seconds.

for example, if the new windows partition has letter W and the device path of the new esp partition is \Device\HarddiskVolume5

the command would be

bcdboot W:\windows /s \Device\HarddiskVolume5

4. then select from bios or the one time boot menu to boot into the new disk and it will complete the normal setup.

It is like this:

When you change the BCDEDIT or use any backup tools you must run the Macrium Refelct BCD repair, I heard and saw in youtube guide that it would work hours/days but suddenly won't boot until you run the BCDEDIT repair.
