having just replaced win 11, I have a folder on my desktop which I am currently uploaded prog by prog. It states that MS Visual C++ from 2008 through to 2022 had not been replaced, and that MS.NET Runtime 7.0.0 preview 4 (x64) has also not been replaced. Should I ignore these or get them from MS?

You probably could get the file from Microsoft but if a program calls for one of them I usually just reinstall that program so it adds exactly what it needs. Some add-ins/support apps are not always all-encompassing or backward compatible.
