You do have recall but don’t have CoPilot+?
You don’t know what you’re doing?
You are a teapot and your spout is broken?
What evidence have you found that says you have recall which makes you worry? Is it nagging you? You think it’s there, therefore it is?

You’ve not stated in the thread you made either, what it is that makes you think you have recall. And if you do, what makes you think it’s working?
You just want people to tell you how to get rid of it.
Try and be clear, comprehensive, without shouting.

Not for nothing Brink, your badge below your avatar says it all, no disrespect but it's in your best interest to push the Microsoft narrative.

If Microsoft was on the up and up about this it wouldn't be a mandatory install and they would let people CHOOSE whether they wanted their malware installed or not as a separate download, because basically that is all it is. Installing it and turning it off after install we all know is not going to get rid of it completely. That's not how things work with Microsoft and Windows.

Hello mate,

My only interest is to help give people options to customize Windows how they want it. When there are no options, there are usually workarounds.

While you currently cannot uninstall the Recall feature, you do have the given option to turn it off or completely disable it via group policy.

I've deleted every registry entry and the thing still shows up in Apps!

I disabled it but this app doesn't run on my PC because it lacks the necessary hardware support. It needs an NPU and while my PC can run everything else, it can't run Recall.

This makes my inability to remove the app completely frustrating!

I submitted feedback to Microsoft on the issue.

They made it a problem and need to fix it!

If I had a Copilot+ PC, it wouldn't be a problem.

Most likely, it'll eventually go away on your system since it's not supported. Possibly a bug that will be corrected in a future update.

I'm happy with the rest of the included apps; I don't have an NPU on mine to run it, which is included on the new Copilot+ PCs.

If you have a PC capable of running it, it will store encrypted snapshots of your local activity.

I refer you back to my original post, turning it off will not get rid of it and disabling via group policy will not get rid of it , can you unequivocally tell us that by doing one or the other you mentioned that it absolutely will not be storing information ? I don't think you can.

Actually, I can tell you.

Disabling is not the same as uninstalling, but disabling the feature will prevent it from running.

Give it a try and see for yourself.

The fact that people in here think microsoft is using this to spy on you is hilarious. They don't need this tool to spy on you.

Privacy has not existed for a long time. I don't understand the constant freaking out over something you have no control over.

Until the laws change beyond meaningless fines, it's pointless to freak out about everything.

This is only going to be offered on AI PC's. If you don't have one, you won't have the feature. So don't worry about it.

I would worry about the feature being compromised from a security standpoint such as malware though.
