My forever problem with Microsoft Updates - they almost always completely reset my personal settings

Windows 11 Pro 24H2 Build 26100.4946
I don't care that they decided not to allow moving my taskbar to the right. That's where I want it, full stop. I do not consent to them changing that. OK, every thime they did that before I found some tweak to reset my taskbar the way I had it. Now I'm back to wasting my time trying to reverse all their ham handed changes claiming they are for a better customer experience.

I know there are plenty of tutorials to help one reset their settings to the original defaults, but that is the last thing in the world I want. I've spent many years forced to working out ways not to do what Microsoft insists on. Is there anyone here who can help me fix my taskbar from Microsoft's bungling BS changes? I think last time I had done it with something maybe in NirSoft, but I don't find that there now.

My update is to Windows 11 Pro 24H2 Build 226100.4946

And that's why I don't update until the bugs get worked out.. MS seems to be confused on who owns the hardware their OS runs on.

None. Manully configured so nobody except me can change any critical system files. (Don't ask how, it's probably against some rule somewhere)
My favorite is OS version and other major updates that restore the registry's ReportMappingTable to its default value. In particular, if I don't turn on the TV for a couple of days, I wonder why my remote's not working, get really mad, and then finally remember Windows does this, and so I have to get up, turn on the lights, reapply the registry file, and reboot. (I make extensive changes to use F13-F24 combinations and add a bunch of new buttons, that I process in Autohotkey, so the defaults don't work at all for my setup.)

They also used to regularly revert File Explorer to show all those extra folders that do nothing but clutter it up, but that doesn't seem to happen nearly as much anymore.

If i remember right.. Chris Titus Winutil has the option to easy just change to security only updates.. and then only install the feature update when the H-version reaches EOL

Your Taskbar stays on the right side even after Windows updates? The OP wants the Taskbar to stay on the right side and not the bottom. I want the Taskbar on the top and by using SAB it's easy to move it back to the top when a update moves it back to the bottom.

Yeah, I also use Chris Titus for just that purpose, on both Windows 10 and Windows 11. It works pretty well

InControl also works at blocking version updates (going from 23H2 to 24H2, for example), while allowing security updates for 23H2 (or 24H2) to go through.

For what remember I never had a Windows update or upgrade changing my settings.
It only used to happen on Edge updates where all Edge settings used to go back to default.
For my surprise they didn't change on last three updates
