I did it but now it blinks every few minutes with a cursor for a split second on firefox. Or is firefox freaking out since i tried to stop it from asking to choose a new profile after i restarted ?

I have none. I've never even been able to do so on a Home version. I think it is hidden or not available. My browser also blinked a black screen for a split second 10 minutes ago.

Then I believe either your current user account or your Windows installation is corrupt.
Try enabling the [normally disabled & hidden] Built-in Admin and using that to create an additional local, password-protected Admin user account.
Use the new account for the test and keep it for future use.
And disable the Built-in Admin afterwards.

It was not disabled and i doubt extra users matter. I don't want to lock myself out.

I just need a easy version fix why the hardware glitched. It has never been infected it is completely clean.

Likely driver-related.

I'd do a drive image backup, then do a In-Place Upgrade (repair install).

That will allow you to keep your apps and personal data.

You've been on this for almost a week.

A 30-40 minute repair install that may fix it, is IMHO, a worthwhile shot.

Yes, I'd install the Intel graphics driver first, since a display driver is the most likely cause of these freezes. Restart, then install the HDR monitor driver.

i accidentally tested it while i left upstairs for nearly 3 hours with no screensaver on and it seems both of the downloads seem to have fixed things.
