Solved My laptop is on a messed up half insider/half non insider build. I don't want to wipe my entire system to fix....any ideas?

So, I find out that my system is on an insider build and it's causing a few issues for me. I did sign up for insider back in the early days of the program on windows 10 but not since windows 11 was released? is their anyway short of wiping my drive and starting again to get off this? It shows that I am not currently in an insiders build as well.

To leave the Windows 11 Insider Program, navigate to Settings > Windows Update > Windows Insider Program and toggle on "Unenroll this device when the next version of Windows releases". If you are on the Dev/Canary channels or need to leave immediately, you must perform a clean installation of Window 11.

To answer that we need to know exactly what build you are on.
What does Winver show? What does Windows update > Update history show?

Why are you going on about insider build if you have not enrolled your thread question is confusing.

Because my build that's loaded into my laptop is supposedly an insiders build. I have been doing some reading. Apparently the build number my laptop is on is an insiders build.

Ok, thanks. someone else might be able to answer me instead of repeating themselves about the insider program. I know all about how to enroll and not enroll. I am asking a very specific question if this build number 26200.8328 is an insiders build number. After that is answered we will then move on.

Thinking about getting an eGpu for this system to take on the road with us.
Why is everyone getting this wrong? This is a preview build and since today is patch Tuesday, if you allow it to apply the patch today you will be back on a standard build. Every single one of my machines is running the same build that you are, and yet I can guarantee with one hundred percent certainty, barring any technical glitch, that they will all update to the standard 25H2 patch today.

This is precisely why your system is not showing it as being on an Insider build, because you are not on an Insider build.

The build number I am on showing in my windows system is 26200.8328
my build that's loaded into my laptop is supposedly an insiders build. I have been doing some reading. Apparently the build number my laptop is on is an insiders build.
No, your 26200.8328 is not an Insider build. It is a standard build for the 25H2 General Availability channel, the build that all non-insiders get.

What may be confusing you is that it is called a 'Preview' build. This just means that it was an optional first chance to get the non-security updates that will be included in today's Patch Tuesday monthly update. If you don't want to get these preview updates automatically then turn off 'Get the latest updates as soon as they're available' in Windows Update.

Let me just add a little bit more detail. Every month on the second Tuesday, Microsoft releases the Patch Tuesday update. Later on in the month, they release the preview for the following month's update. It's basically the same thing as the following month's update, minus the security updates. You are on the preview for the May updates, so today being Patch Tuesday, you will get the final update if you allow it to install. And that will include the security updates. I hope that helps to clarify things.

No, I am not. I am asking if this build number 26200.8328 is an insiders build number? Co-Pilot claims it is. I want to know for sure. It's not difficult if someone here could just answer that very simple question and not give long winded answers about the insiders program. I know ALL about it, how to enroll and how to leave. It's not what I am asking. I am simply asking is this build number...... 26200.8328 an insiders build number. I don't trust Co-Pilot

If you know how to unroll from insider build then why are you asking if your Windows 11 version insider build you have to enroll to became insider build.
