Hi folks

I've found this system which I've installed on an external 1TB Nvme device connected to a computer via a USBC connector the perfect workhorse for whever I am -- It boots from almost any PC - the Win11 IOT seems to be "Hardware agnostic" so running the other OS'es doesn't faze the activation -- not sure why but who cares - if the IOT system does this then that's a huge bonus.

On rare cases where there's no USBC connection on the hardware a bog standard USB3 / 3.2 connecton works perfectly.

Win 11 Enterprise in English - rest in ISL with other languages added so easy to logout and re-boot in appropriate other language(s). I usually need German, Dutch / Flemish, Spanish and French -- although I never use that dreadful French AZERTY keyboard layout !!!.

Eventually I'll make separate Windows in all those languages so no need to logout and reboot in the other language.

Using vhdx files makes the whole thing so easy !!!.

Great when doing gigs for companies in different countries or even when on site. Not sure why Ms aren't pushing Windows 11 IOT a lot more --seems to have addressed loads of typical irritants Windows has for BUSINESS users - particularly in Networking and lack of bloat.

For primarily domestic and gamer users -then OK not appropriate (although it might work) but loads here do work professionally with Windows 11 as an important tool.

Not tried yet but I belive Win 11 IOT also works OK on ARM processors too -- itching to try that if I can "beg borror or steal some hardware" to test on.

Cheers

Hey Jimbo, I read about all your VMs. I'm curious. How many VMs do you maintain?

Hi there

Love your comments -- even though I'm a dying breed on this planet --" A hetero male and !!!White stale and pale! " ==although Iceland is one of the most liberated countries on Earth, where male / female discrimination went out of the window generations ago.

That said

I've about 23 different VM systems -- obviously not all on he same server concurently though!!!

cheers

Pretty interesting. Have you tried adding in a differencing disk, so you can roll back to the original VHD installation, e.g. when you leave a customer site?

Thanks

Interesting idea -- will certainly look at it -- However I have 2 of those NvMe adapters so getting the original back again isn't a problem.

BTW the size of those adapters are only slightly bigger than a couple of usb thumb drives so extremely portable and of course fast.

Cheers
