Solved Need help Lenovo won't boot up


hsehestedt, sorry it took so long but everyday problems occur !

Downloaded the 2 files but it won't let me copy the Win. ISO file ............ see the picture ! Says to large, but it's only 5.7 GB and the flash drive is 29 GB of free space not sure whats up with that ?? Screenshot 2022-11-07 144132.png

I imagine that the flash drive is formatted as FAT32. The largest file size permitted by that is 4GB.

If you formatted it as NTFS, the file would fit.

However, if you want a bootable flash drive, it still should be FAT32. Maybe the easiest way to create that from an ISO is using Rufus.

bobkn is correct. But, you don't want to copy it to the flash drive anyway. Do it the way I instructed. Save that ISO file to your hard disk, for example on your desktop. Double-click it to mount it and note what drive letter it is assigned. Then run the batch file as I instructed. That will create the flash drive for you.

This may not be an option for you but what do is, I mount the ISO and copy the files to the USB drive.

Thanks, Winuser. Unfortunately, I specifically do NOT want him to do this. Bear in mind that this is an ISO with a customized answer file and I'm asking to create the flash drive using the batch file I created for very specific reasons.

My apologies if I sound harsh. Under normal circumstances, that would be fine advice, but I have a very specific route I want to go which I have not fully spelled out yet. More will come after I get the results of what I instructed thus far.

Make sure that your flash drive is plugged in to this system that you took the screen shots from.

On the left side you can see that the Windows image got mounted as drive H:.

On that right-side screen you are showing the batch file. Double-click it to run it.

Now, jump back to my earlier post in this thread (post #14). Continue with step number 5.

I do understand but my thinking is that if the USB keyboard and mouse isn't going to work it would be better to know at the beginning then after wasting time to do the unattended install.

From that screenshot, it looks pretty clear that the flash drive is an 8GB drive. Does that sound correct?

The disk number is 3, so enter "3" here.

I came back to try again to get a boot disk from instructions of hsehestedt, it went well until it was time to make the disk, this is what i got ! No cd i have will hold that many GB's !!

You can try to boot your computer into recovery mode by force powering off your computer 4 to five times, this will revoke automatic startup repair tool.

Also you can use Windows 11 Media Creation Tool to create yourself a bootable USB flash drive.

I'm not hsehestedt, but when you mount an ISO, it shows up as a DVD drive.
