Network gurus - question on Bridged networking

Hi folks
Is it possible for a single machine whether virtual or real to be able to have 2 network bridges up and active at the same time with different ip addresses.The relevant machine only has one physical NIC but presumably as a VM that shouldn't matter either.

I think it's not possible for software bridge because physical NIC when bridged is associated with a bridge so it shouldn't be possible to bridge it again.
Not sure about multiple hardware based bridges.

Yes. My laptop has internal wifi connected to my main ssid. Another usb wifi external dongle connected to guest wifi ssid. I use that dongle to bridge my virtual machines, so that my internal wifi card is always free for me. Thanks.

I´ve done that now on a laptop which has an internal wifi card and a USB LAN type connector - works a treat.

On a NAS I use there´s 2 physical NIC´s (LAN) so not a problem. I have set up 2 wifi ssid's one for guests.
