OS
WIN 11
i dont know if it is the right section to post this
what i am trying to do is to have access to my files store in pc with win11 from android tv
so far i have these tries
to make a cloud service such as google drive and use this
for some reasons i prefer not to do this but its in my thoughts
second i could make my folders ftp but as much as i tried with applications such as filezilla and others couldnt make things to work
third and have some success is to enable sharing in my wifi network and with an android app such as x-plore to connect to local network
problem is that my home as i have set up i have an extender so my pc use the extender network and android is connected with lan from modem because near the TV is the base. if that solution would worked i guess i could use apps such as vlc and had access to media files and watch movies to tv from pc
any other suggestion to talk about?

Yeah, the simplest and easiest solution is using VLC and make sure that the drive containing the files you want to access from your PC is shared.

Tried it before posting this reply and it took less than a minute to get it to work. I already have VLC installed on my Google TV.

You need to turn off the NAT firewall and DHCP on your extender so both the PC and Android TV are on the same network. It needs to be in repeater mode not access point mode.

I run Plex Server on my NAS and my smart TV has the Plex Client app installed. In my travel trailer I have a Raspberry Pi that runs Plex Server with a USB hard drive, and my Roku connects to it through the Plex Client app.

If its movies and TV Shows, use Plex Server. Its easy to setup and free to use even though there is a paid service plan.

I have Raspberry Pi in my fridge. My Grandma made it. Oh wait....

Yes have to give a try to this . In Google Search many mention plex and kodi as well. Have to take a screenshot when trying to connect by local network asks me some password and username but to pc I don't have put something like that. Confused

Another program you can try is Mezzmo. It's free unless you want to be able to stream your content over the internet. I use the free version to stream locally to two Roku boxes and one Roku TV.

You can use Plex, Emby, or Mezzmo for free and they will work. You can NOT use Kodi on most TVs (you can install it on some Android TVs or modified AppleTVs).
With any of the three above, you have to set the software up on your computer first before trying to 'just access' it from your phone.
Which app are you using that you took the screenshot in?

Mezzmo is easy to setup. I installed the software, pointed it to my router and used my passphrase to connect. After that all I had to do was install the Mezzmo app on my Roku devices and connect to the Mezzmo server. I don't know if the other programs are as easy to setup.

Unfortunately i don't have time right now to check all but next days I will do. Mezzmo is trial in play store. I guess dlna is the key and might take a search about that term to be educated. X-plore is the name of the app

If the app in play store is like the Windows program, you only have to pay for it if you want to be able to access your content from the internet. I only access my content on my local network so I'm using the free version. I just want to stream to the three TVs in our house.

If you can explain some of the errors I may be able to help as I know a lot about Emby's settings/etc.

Its not an error but just sometimes cant find network or if find can't load. Is matter of low internet speed to my area and how i have setup network to my home . But i have figured out how to do just to solve the problem of buffering. I might change router position and use wi-fi instead of lan. Right now I am trying an app to smart tv call As air screen. But loading is slow or stops. I am installing plex server to pc to give a last try. Ty all for support

1. On your computer you have to set it up DLNA media server, then use the tv's mediaplayer to find and play your videos.
2. you can try PLEX . It is available for android which can make things easier.
3. Most modern tvs have a usb port where you can add an external drive from which you can play media with the tv's media player.
4. screen mirroring...In Windows 10 , 11 you can connect your PC to the tv via way of wifi and mirror or extend your desktop to the tv.

Ty Thomas
1 and 2 i have already done
4 i think is not convenient. The matter is to handle pc files not from pc but from tv.
Plex has nice interface but same result play with hard load and finally stop. As said has nothing to do with application it's all problem of how my network is setup and thats now i am testing changing place of router position
