Thanks, but why is it there in the 1st place? (I edited OP, I never installed it)
Some apps that uses UWP get automatically installed as bloatware. Apps differ by region. Why? Probably MS gets paid for it.

I rebooted my computer a few minutes ago, and when it came back up, Spotify was in the taskbar with a window asking me to log in.... (I never installed it, but I have been teasing my kids for over a decade that it is a virus).

I am good at looking for programs piggybacking on other program installs, and I didn't see it. Also it does not show in add/remove programs, so I can't see when it was "installed"....
Ever since Windows ceased being an operating system for a productive work/home/school PC, and became a quasi entertainment system, these types of add-ons appeared - Spotify, Disney, Amazon, etc. Microsoft's prostituting itself for commercial interests is palpable.

To uninstall - completely - use RevoUninstaller. The freeware version is good enough, and you may need to access the Windows tab to see the installation. When you run uninstaller, don't bother with a restore point (untick). When finished, don't restart even if prompted, and then make sure you run the Advanced option for the next step - cleanup leftover files, folders and registry entries. No need to be selective, just tick and delete everything.

EDIT : If Revo doesn't list the program, just right click on the program icon and choose uninstall - chances are it's just a link to the web site from which you can download and install the program.

Exactly. Either you uninstalled it or not. There is no deleting of installed apps, only files and icons.

There are a lot of apps that Microsoft installs by default with Windows - and there are a lot of those apps that I uninstall every time I cleanly install. The Solitaire one, Spotify, a few others that I don't need and / or don't care to use.

Some of those apps are not uninstallable by normal means, but the majority are.

Could technically go in, Find the install folder and delete it. I've done it before. I can delete entire games from steam without using steam to uninstall the program. I get what you're saying though. You should always uninstall, Dont delete direct from directory unless you need to for whatever reason.

If an installation stores all files in a single location, sure. Did you check your \Users folder, though, for additional settings for any one of those games that are still lying around, or save games in your \Documents folder?

And yeah,. I do a lot of deleting too, versus uninstalling, but typically, you're spot on - you really should uninstall when possible.

It's not something that i do to be honest or haven't done for a long long time, I would only do it if for some reason i couldn't get it to uninstall. I have everything set to not delete those when i uninstall anything anyway. I like to re-visit games i didn't get round to finishing and pick up where i left off, Albeit most are all cloud backed up nowadays anyway!

Agreed, the last time I actually just deleted something that was not a portable app to begin with (and thus was not installed) is ... hmmmm.

I cannot actually remember, now. Lol. More than likely, though, it would have been for a program that acted in a TSR mode that was always running, and my only recourse to get rid of it would be to hit safe mode or boot another OS and deleted the files / folder.

Ahhh yeah i forgot about portable apps, Yeah i just delete those once im done with it, Unless theres an option to install it which i'll take all day and then leave it for if i need it again. Weird, Because its installed im willing to leave it there, If its not i delete it. Strange lol

No, you can't (well, I s'pose you "can" but that doesn't remove it from the system)

Installation of programs in a Windows system is a complex process, and involves the installation of many prepherial (but necessary) files in directories other thah the program directory in C:\Program Files / (x86) - other directories such as C:\Windows and any of it's subs.
Quite often, if a program detects components still left behind, an update will determine a "broken" program, fix it by restoring the missing (deleted) components .... Oooh, look, that program keeps coming back.

Deleting = bad move. Uninstall (properly and thoroughly) = good move.

yeah we established this, I dont believe anyone recommended doing it it. I suppose you could delete it manually and use revo or something to get rid of the rest but..well if you're gonna do that whats the point.

As we said, Only really done when for whatever reason an uninstall isn't possible, For me personally...its been years
