New Asus BIOS for z790 and z690

Updated ME firmware and keys.

I had already manually updated the secure boot keys manuallyScreenshot 2025-12-17 131345.webp, but the default Option ROM was missing. Here is what I get now:

I updated the bios on my ProArt Z790 about an hour ago to the new version for my board 3107. I did have a heart stopping moments when the first reboot after update hung. Thankfully after unplugging the PC and then restarting it booted fine. I enabled the default settings in the Bios, making sure the Secure Boot settings are all running at default. The Secure Boot settings in Windows 11 25H2 can be seen below.

@Marcus Vinicus Unless you move vulnerable CA 2011 certs into UEFI DBX vault, you are not protected even if you have the new CA 2023 certs installed. I believe you know that but I wanted to remind you anyway.

2011 CA are not "vulnerable", the are just going to expire next summer. So there is nothing "protected" and you do not have to revoke them until then. In fact it can cause some issues that need attended if you put 2011 on the dbx list now.

I'm not doing anymore with this. First, I very nearly had a major issue yesterday after the PC hung on the first reboot after the UEFI Bios update. It scared the living daylights out of me. It rebooted properly the next time fortunately.

I'm not making any more manual changes to this, just following advice and applying official updates from Microsoft/ASUS. I doubt the risk is very high at all to my two computers. Also, the 2011 certs aren't being used during the boot process.

It might have been updating the ME firmware .

Could have been, it was an unusually long time circa 15 minutes. Normally with this board ME firmware updates take 5 - 10 minutes.

Yeah, an ME update won't take that long.

I used to have SB off for quite a long time a few years back. Somehow, I think the bad guys are more interested in hacking the big companies\institutions databases\systems et al as opposed to us home users.
