It is bullshit to tell a guy to clean install without taking their needs into account.
Seems to me you're ignoring the OP's question in favor of pushing your own "agenda" while dismissing other valid points.
My current PC is getting old, so plan to build a new one.
Question is if I should simply move my OS SSD to my new machine, and then upgrade to WIN11, or do a clean install of WIN 11 on the new machine, perhaps with a new SSD.
The vast majority doing a new build will do a clean install. This provides a fresh install on a new build and eliminates the worry that you may have transferred an issue/conflict over from the old install.
At any rate, we're merely answering the OP's questions.... whether you agree or not is irrelevant. As you said, the OP will decide.
