New computer - errors on boot up

I bought a new computer (ASUS NUC 14 Pro+) and moved my M.2 drive to the new computer. The computer doesn't come with a drive so I put in my existing drive running Windows 11 23H2. On boot up I get 2 boxes of the following error boxes.

"AI Suite3" - error box title
"Access violation at address 004D 1945 in module read of address 001A56FC"

"Dipawaymode" - error box title
"The remote procedure call failed"

Tried looking on-line but couldn't get a site for those error codes. Would like to keep the computer but need to fix these.

That type situation can happen when using a drive from a different computer, usually need to do a clean install on it's own drive. It's probably due to different types of hardware between the two devices.

I presume that the drive was moved from your "System One".

Both of those are from the Asus AI Suite 3. I suggest that you uninstall it, if you can.

No - It comes "Barebones" without a drive and ram so you can choose your own drive or use your existing drive. Barebones is an ASUS term.

So I uninstalled the AI Suite 3 but I'll have to fire up the new computer tomorrow. Going to the dentist office for a 3 hour procedure in about 20 minutes. Hope you're right.

...but it's a different computer. Microsoft use to be real strict about changing hardware and would require a user to buy a new license.

Yikes. 3 hours is a long time in the chair. I hope all goes well with the procedure.

And the PC, too. Please let us know how that came out.

The original license was a full license meaning I can transfer it to a new computer. Done it before.

Yes, a Retail license can be transferred to a Replacement computer but not both at the same time. OEM licenses are tied to the machine they come with. Haven't used a System Builder license in quite awhile so not up on those.

NavyLCDR has claimed that the distinction between retail and OEM licenses has been lost, as regards activation. The EULA (end user license agreement) may not have changed, but there may be no enforcement of it.

Microsoft is not being as strict about moving a OEM build as they use to be.

Hope it goes well.

And yeah, AI Suite, either try to reinstall (if you need it) or remove it. I have always found it useless. Was fun 10 years ago before new OS builds today that really don’t need it.

I bought a new computer (ASUS NUC 14 Pro+) and moved my M.2 drive to the new computer. The computer doesn't come with a drive so I put in my existing drive running Windows 11 23H2. On boot up I get 2 boxes of the following error boxes.

"AI Suite3" - error box title
"Access violation at address 004D 1945 in module read of address 001A56FC"

"Dipawaymode" - error box title
"The remote procedure call failed"

Tried looking on-line but couldn't get a site for those error codes. Would like to keep the computer but need to fix these.

just disable them in task scheduler and services.msc, if you dont want to uninstall them
