Windows 11 PRO 25H2 (OS Build 26200.6725)
Windows 11 25H2

Notification this morning that my Centurylink email password no longer works; likely aged-out. I created a new password, tried to use it on my computer, with odd result that when I tried to log-on, the log-on form simply rotated back to the top. There was no notification that the password was faulty, just a failure to log on. I tried a few times, with the same result.

I then went to my wife's computer, and in Firefox (as on my computer,) I entered the UserID and the password, and was logged on immediately.

Later in the day, I changed the password in my free-standing Thunderbird email program, and as I expected, I could not log on there, either. I made the change as once someone or more than one person, will provide me with the steps to take to make the Centurylink email accessible on my machine.

Standard Statement: Thanks in advance given the possibility that I will forget to post my appreciation when such action should be taken.

Not saying it is, but this could be the problem.

Regarding webmail, Try Edge or another browser.
If it works in another browser, the problem is in FF.. Clear FF cookies and cache.

Also delete the saved credentials (autofill) for Centurylink in FF. . How Do I Disable or Clear AutoFill/AutoComplete Information?

Close and reopen Firefox. Login to webmail using new credential. Does it work?

Logging in thru Webmail and thru an email application is different. How is your email set up in Thunderbird, IMAP or POP? Exactly how are you trying to enter new password in Thunderbird?

Thanks, I can now sort of get my email. This is quite confusing, as it deals with matters I know nothing about, and would prefer to continue not to know about. I am not even certain just what the sequence of events was, other than that my original problem of the Centurylink email address not working, which it now does.

However, this appeared when I opened MailWasher Pro: "Google mail scope not granted access by [email protected]. Please, close authentication window and try again." I took one look at something about `mail scope' and quickly closed it on the grounds that I have enough confusion and would not even try to understand that. i shall contact FireTrust, the MailWasher people to ask what I need to do to restore MailWasher. There is a simple way to contact them directly from MailWasher, were it working.

I also have no idea what opened my Gmail in Firefox; I have a tab in my finally restored Tab Bar for Gmail, but I don't think that I had clicked on it. There are many things I don't know, such as why I started two fire departments....

What I do know is that I do thank you for your reply, which likely eventuate in my being able to open Thunderbird and read my Gmail and Centurylink email therein. I think that I am sent to Thunderbird when Mailwasher has finished its task, but I see no entry for either that nor Mailwasher in KeePass, which just adds to my whatever it is that I have, sigh.

Found Tbird, entered, and this time saved, its working password, which perforce opened the program in Settings, right where I had left it.

If the userfluppet is an active working email address, edit it out of your post so you don't get any spam.
Your problems may be caused by mailwasher.
We suggest you uninstall mailwasher and restart the computer then reinstall it, if you really need it. Gmail does a good job of filtering spam without 3rd party apps.
If you still have problems with mailwasher, post a thread in their forum for better results

I contacted MailWasher yesterday. They knew what needed to be done; sadly,, I could not get that to work. I am sure that there is a reply from them about my inability to get the file that needs to be added to be added in today's email.

Thanks for replying.

Login to CenturyLink Web Mail and see if MailWasher has a new email suggesting a solution.
If not, just Uninstall MailWasher and reboot the computer. If you can access your email on your computer using Firefox and CenturyLink web mail and Thunderbird, you know that MailWasher is the issue.
See if you can update MailWasher to a newer version then apply their fix.
If you still have problems with mailwasher, post a thread in their forum for better results
