Just got a New predator helios 18 Ph18-72 model with the i9 14900hx and RTX 4080, 32gb ddr5 ram at 5600.

I bought a kit 64GB kit from crucial that was also 5600, but as soon as I installed it, it down grades it to 5200. BIOS settings show nothing that can help. I'm pretty sure that I could use some more because I am maxing it out. Is there a way I can get the 64gb to run at 5600? if not am I going to notice the 5200?

"Yes, Crucial is notorious for giving you the option to buy their most expensive memory first. In this case you paid for 6000 MT/s memory and it will only run at a maximum of 5600MT/s. It's very possible the memory you bought doesn't have a 5600 MT/s setting in it's XMP profiles, so will only work with XMP off and running at 3200 or slower. Return it and either get the 5600 version, which should cost less, or get someone else's 5600…"

TL;DR

You need to check with Acer technical support on the official website.

Questions are better asked in the right place.
This is not a Windows problem, absolutely not.

Had this problem a very long time ago, instead of 2666MHz it was 2400MHz (not Crucial).
Sold it (the person who bought it had no problems with it) and bought another one. But in any case, check with Acer first.

@Venom_ARC

You probably won't notice the 400 MHz when gaming. Benchmarks, yes, but for gaming you might lose a couple of FPS. No big deal. The heavy lifting is done by your graphics card.

My old PC had DDR4-3200 RAM that would only run at 2933, even though it was on the QVL for my motherboard. It made no difference as far as I could tell.

True.
  1. not much impacts on computer performance (I run my test on new one). and @Catnip is right. for gaming, the graphics card dominates.
  2. Crucial RAM, I run into a similar problem. my DDR4-2666 32 GB wouldn't run on HP G5 i5-9600 (beeping). 2133 MHz on HP G3 (lower than its specs). but it's noticed that it alone runs 2666 MHz on Dell OptiPlex 7070. hence I had to pullout Dell RAM for HP 800 G5, then plugged Crucial RAM (was bought for HP) onto Dell. In this way I don't have to return the RAM to Crucial.
