Not an issue as far as data is concerned. I have a backup to idrive if both machines and other local copies of data.

Have done the Win 11 clean install using download if Win 11 to usb drive

Fan has not stopped running so far, intermittently very fast.

127 degrees C? That is insane. The highest TDP I have seen for sany CPU is about 100 degrees C although the latest from Intel are said to have a TDP of 105. But I would consider 127 degrees to be potentially life ending for the CPU if it runs at those temps too long.

But this would appear to indicate some major underlying problem. The CPU should be throttled so that it NEVER sees that high a temp.

To tell you the truth, that value is so high that I don't believe. Maybe HWINFO is misreading a sensor.

Dell should have a diagnostic package for your laptop. I suggest running it to see what it reports.

Beyond that, I would agree with the others. I would make Dell resolve that issue. If what HWINFO is reporting is accurate, then you have a serious problem.

How to 'make Dell resolve the issue'. That is the question...

Maybe, as hsehestedt thought HWINfo is not recording accurately as when I ran that today I saw a spike of 100 degrees C

But this still leaves the constantly running fan. It has not stopped all day. And Dell say this should not be the case.

Can I stress test the processor. Having reinstalled windows don't really want to have to replicate the configured install I have on the other SSD that I removed this morning.

If anything would need to run all these logs and tests on that SSD along with Sentinel and use laptop as I would normally use it which is just office use, multiple windows and apps open, IMAP and POP email accounts configured in Outlook classis, two cloud connections (for storage and back up). No serious photo or audio editing or gaming.
