New tool removes AI from Windows 11

Winslop's UI is not what you would call a beautiful modern Windows app, but the list of options is quite extensive, and you can customize a lot of stuff, including AI, gaming, privacy, ads, Microsoft Edge, etc. There is also an option to revert changes, should you need to get things back to the original state.

Maybe worth giving it a go?

Fortunately I went back to Windows 10 and sticking with it for a while for one reason not to have Co-Pilot or AI on my Computer Lucky Me

Just curious why your profile says you're on Windows 11 Pro.

You also have to wonder how intertwined AI is with Windows 11 now and if removing it completely will break something.

I used to have Windows 11 but just recently gone back to windows 10 as it seems to be more stable and snappier with my hardware.
And with this program it states that there is also an option to revert changes, should you need to get things back to the original state if all goes pear shape.

I disabled CO-Pilot using O&O ShutUp10++.
It even can be removed using that app, but I did not yet try that, maybe later.

Boot into Windows 11 on your machine and fire up an elevated PowerShell window.
Search for ‘PowerShell’ on the start menu, and click on the ‘Run as Administrator’ option from the right hand side of the UI.
Paste in the command into the PowerShell window and hit the Enter key.

Powershell:

& ([scriptblock]::Create((irm “https://raw.githubusercontent.com/zoicware/RemoveWindowsAI/main/RemoveWindowsAi.ps1”)))

Choose your options and you should be done!

Type this command to revert the changes (if applicable) and press Enter:

Powershell:

Thank God, thought it was just me, being a grumpy old fart !!

Running Bit Defender trial at the moment, considering go back to Kaspersky, as it worked for me for many years.

My Windows 10 box, is my box no 2 (Ubuntu is daily driver), so not that bothered..

I don't have Co-Pilot on my two Win-11 systems
But I'm also still using Win-7 but gradually force myself off it.
I cannot access my bank on Win-7 any more so that a bit of a pain in the ask

The browser is working ok so no banking problems, but the email client is a pita. I have to boot into win11 to pick up emails.

The browser Firefox works great but Chase Bank won't let me use it starting about a month ago so I have to log into Windows 11 to use a newer version of Firefox. I'm still using Eudora for email on Win-7 but Thunderbird on Win-11. I don't remember ever using anything but Eudora for as long as Ive had email so it's sad to have to let the old girl go. But I can still read all my old email going back to the 90's with it it works in portable mode but I never do. I'm not THAT sentimental LOL

A while ago I got a gigabyte h310m s2h ( not the 2.0 version) just to play with it. It supposedly doesnt support win7 so I was up for the challenge.

works OK no issues after using and restarting the system
most of these tweaks i had already applied via Chris Titus but it did have a good selection
disable ads plus most of the tweaks are plugins, well thought out.

a worthwhile tool to keep in the 'fix' Windows toolbox.

For Onedrive you don't need third-pary software to disable it.

Bing: if you don't select it as search engine in Firefox, it will not be used at all.
I don't allow a search on the Internet from the Search box (search box is hidden) so from that point of view I never am searching with Bing.

Edge: I don't use it very often, but leave it on my system, because it is very much integrated with the system. And if my Firefox fails on a certain site, I can try in Edge. Some sites use such interface that Firefox does not react when clicking a button. To make sure that it indeed is Firefox causing the problem, I try in Edge. Nothing more is done with Edge.
Basic search engine for Edge was changed from Bing into my favorite search engine. But Edge is updated now and then and then Bing is default again. I don't bother about that, just set back the other search engine.

Tested Winslop with no problems. Only thing is.... if you do a thorough Winslopping you will damn near end up with X-Lite much to the horror of the perpetual nay-sayers that have never tried it and never will

So be very careful when trying Winslop out - you may end up with exactly the Win11 you want and struggle to find things to whinge about in this forum.
I use X-Lite as a useful starting point to get rid of most of the crap I didn't ask for or want. From there I have collected some additional tweaks to further decrappify Win11 - many from this forum thank you. I was curious about many people clinging on to Win10 or even reverting back to it (never having had the stomach to tolerate it myself) so I installed an X-Lite version of Win10 to see what all the fuss is about. Yep, it confirmed why I skipped Win8 thru 10 and it also confirmed that underneath the crap, the fundamental Win11 O.S is good - just not in its "out of the box" configuration. Now if Microsoft could round up all the legacy code from Win2000~10 and update it to a single Win11 look, maybe even fix the remaining font size mismatches that appear even in the same window....
