AFAIK ExplorerPatcher doesn't "officially" support any Dev builds in spite of the fact it should now be capable to correctly download the symbols on Dev builds (if they are available for download). My guess it can happen that ExplorerPatcher works on a Dev build, but if it does, then likely it will be more because of pure luck than anything else, also AFAIK.

Anyway, valinet fixed it in version 41.3. Symbols are downloaded fine again

Thanks @AndreTen Good to know but I am not bothering with pre release builds at the moment as they are coming very frequently and there is not any thing that I need in the update

After todays cumulative update ExplorerPatcher updates automatically (if you have auto update turned on) with the latest features and symbol files

You can show weather icon now

Weather did not show up after boot from cold start. It was working and it is still checked.
Edit: I clicked "Show Weather on the taskbar" again. I thought it would uncheck it. It appeared again. I click it again. And a second instance appeared. A third click and now have 3 weathers. I know it's development version. So it's cool.

I rebooted again and there were no weather widgets on the taskbar. I clicked the show weather on taskbar and one widget appeared. I will keep it like that.

I also tried to add weather widget, but it showed People icon instead. I checked the support of widgets in the task list, service was active. Maybe some other requirements are needed, or a specific service like location which may be switched off in my OS settings. The problem is in lack of diagnostics, problems with widget are not shown in the log, apparently the corresponding messages are not written yet.

Anyway, I hope it will be improved in next builds. It's good that the work is started.

Version 42.1 fixes some problems with weather.

Not the multiple instances. I just installed it. He claims he does not know the cause yet.
Edit: To get rid of multiple instances, or one instance, just restart explorer.

42.1 works nice for me and the weather is nice, but support for Dark Theme on the weather flyout would make it even nicer still.

Hi

I have installed explorer patcher yesterday, the latest version on my Windows 11 Professional Laptop with Openshell installed. When explorer patcher is installed and then Windows explorer restarts, why does all my notifications icons on the bottom right hand corner of the taskbar get switched off?, is that normal for the first installation of explorer patcher and does any other settings get changed in the Control Panel or Windows Settings Menu or do all the other settings in the Control Panel/Windows settings menu stay intact?. In the future when there is a new version of explorer patcher available then the user will update within the properties menu of explorer patcher to the latest version will the same thing happen again to the task bar icon notification?. How do you make sure that explorer patcher does not change any settings in a future update? And lastly when installing Windows 11 updates then rebooting does that keep the settings the same with the explorer patcher installed?.

What is the best way around all these issues? And has anyone else experienced the same thing with explorer patcher installed.

If that's the stable version then, can post the exact link to download the stable version, but my version says
Version 22000.376.40.21

I'm not sure if mines is a pre release or a stable version.

You do not have the latest version. Right click on the taskbar>properties>updates and update to 22000.469.41.16 (released today)
Then right click on the taskbar> properties and work your way down the list of settings to set it up how you want it.
If any taskbar icons go missing after the update and you have an arrow pointing up they may be in there, if so drag them out.

Forgot to say they are stable versions if it continues check the openshell settings, I have both and they work with no problems
