Will the MS Store work and can it receive updates? Cuz I would want to update to the latest v 26100.2894 (without the update installing a bunch of crap)I've been using it for about a year now with no issues. Running the windows 11 optimum home version. No MS bloat or resource hogs.
I'm a graphic designer so I need my softwares to run efficiently and fast.
Highly recommended....
Yeah, runs the same. I've just heard too many horror stories related to 24H2, so have held off updating for a bit.I'd rather run 24H2, honestly. . I'm sure it will run the same of course. . It's just a matter of reinstalling all the software, etc.
Yes, there's an optional MS Store install. Works fine for me.Will the MS Store work and can it receive updates? Cuz I would want to update to the latest v 26100.2894 (without the update installing a bunch of crap)
What have you heard? I haven't had an issue with it, honestly. I would like to hear some horror stories.Yeah, runs the same. I've just heard too many horror stories related to 24H2, so have held off updating for a bit.
Issues with updates, issues with games, blue screens. Granted, I'm sure these are common to all version bumps, I just decided to hold off a bit. Certainly not trying to turn ppl off to running it.What have you heard? I haven't had an issue with it, honestly. I would like to hear some horror stories.
YesDid you resume updates?
I just tried it again and it worked this time.Did you resume updates?
yeah it must be just random, cuz I haven't had really any issues like that. I don't game on my PCIssues with updates, issues with games, blue screens. Granted, I'm sure these are common to all version bumps, I just decided to hold off a bit. Certainly not trying to turn ppl off to running it.![]()
For X-Lite, it's simple to update the Optimum builds. Just go into Settings, Windows Update, and resume updates. The Ultralight builds cannot be updated, but it says that right on the site. Will the MS Store work and can it receive updates? I see this kind of thing a lot. Microsoft refers to 24H2 as a "full OS swap." Now, what that technically means is there is no enablement package to just turn on 24H2 features on a device running 23H2 now. But really, as a practical matter, folks should treat 24H2 migrations with about as much care as loading a new OS. And I say that as someone who has mass-deployed every version of Windows since NT 4.... Granted, I'm sure these are common to all version bumps....
When updating, the updates don't install all the bloatware or anything, does it?For X-Lite, it's simple to update the Optimum builds. Just go into Settings, Windows Update, and resume updates. The Ultralight builds cannot be updated, but it says that right on the site.
I do game on That Build, and I have never had a BSOD or any form of crash.Issues with updates, issues with games, blue screens. Granted, I'm sure these are common to all version bumps, I just decided to hold off a bit. Certainly not trying to turn ppl off to running it.![]()
