X-Lite generally aims for a minimalist experience, while Optimum 11 Pro is an optimized build with specific performance enhancements and a different user interface.

Thanks. So Windows X-Lite keeps the standard Windows 11 user interface, while Optimum 11 has a different user interface, and is faster and uses fewer system resources?

I'm on Optimum 11 Pro 24H2, standard user interface. It gives a pretty good description right when you're about to d/l.

I might have to check it out. Seems similar to Ghost Spectre windows 11, which I have running on my system at the moment, with a few additional tweaks to stop updates and drive-by installs of Edge and Copilot, which IMO are integrated spyware.

Ditto. Stock Windows breaks modded games and slows down over time. A nonstarter with all the telemetry (spyware) and built in nannies. Can you beat 130 running processes at startup? tm.webp

i think x-lite is at like 65-75 iirc. i’d have to reboot, but currently grilling. 😎

As aggrophobik says, i won't be going back to a standard install. This is fast and without problems.
My next build which will be a ryzen 7 9700X with only m.2 drives should absolutely fly.

Ryzen 5 5600X=I have one of those. Seems to be working fine, just seems to be a dud core overclocker (got access violation errors in browser tabs when I tested a core OC, where I will be lucky to get 4.75 GHz) (Maybe 4.8?) I didn't notice strange issues with RAM controller, so far. Years ago, back in late 2021 or shortly after, I tested core OC'ing with CTR (discontinued, IIRC)
While the 5800X I used to have, OTOH, was suspected of having a strange defect with the RAM controller.

So, I still didn't chuck my 5600X yet. Looks like a candidate for the ASRock A320M/ac build.

The problem is this: Ghost Spectre with '4652 integrated, has the "broken component store" bug.

Ghost Spectre has one with '4652 and I tested it. Unfortunately, it has the bugs that affect other people who got the July, 2025 patch-Tuesday update.

On a mechanical drive, boot time will still be less than ten seconds, but there's a huge difference between loading the OS at a few hundred MB/s vs a SSD that can read several GB/s
