multiple different people review laptops there, I don't think there is any shilling there at all.

The framework laptops he is invested in is well disclosed when he is involved and tbf are quite good machines.

But as I said, there are multiple websites that do best laptop lists for a certain year, for budget and high end categories.

Also rtings is also really good as I mentioned.

If you take all that info into account its pretty easy to recommended something decent.

At the risk of infuriating a few die-hards, I just want to report how I solved all the Intel problems.....

If there's an Intel cpu anywhere in this house, it's in something that someone gave me. If I bought it, it's AMD!

Of all the complaints, I read, on all the forums, about a CPU problem, most of them involve an Intel product.
And without a good cooling fan, they just don't run at all.

Videos? I don't bother. They just suck up too much of my limited bandwidth.

My comment was about the video in the OP by Carey Holzman. He's not from Australia. I like and follow Hardware Unboxed.

This all boils down to why i never buy the top of the line spec CPU's and chase benchmarks. I've never actually felt the real-world gains to be substantial enough to outweigh the stability, longevity, energy, or heat concerns.

Long story short of this debacle is that Intel has never been clear to anybody on what the power delivery spec requirements are, and mobo manufacturers have been free to do whatever is in their best interest....which is often to produce a product with the highest benchmark scores possible to sell more of their product. In turn, Intel continues to sell more products even if it comes at the cost of heat, reduced lifespan or stability.

I'll always take a few % drop in FPS in a game if it comes with stability and energy savings. My EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra runs with a small undervolt. It dropped power by almost 100w and dropped my temps about 10c....those are both much more coveted to me than a slightly higher benchmark score. Not to mention, my clocks stay without any boosting and then dropping. Give me a consistent 133FPS, instead of an average of 136 with much higher power usage.

It's not just a problem with Intel and AMD. Quality control has been replaced with quantity control in just about everything.

Personally, I find the alternative unthinkable. Still, I suspect Intel is liable for the lion's share of the blame in this case. AMD has been giving them a good run for the money. This not to say that AMD is that dedicated to quality control of system boards either; but pulling out all the stops just to make the CPU run faster isn't really the answer — especially when we're looking at this sort of wattage just to reach those Hz. I never did quite grasp the idea behind extreme overclocking. It reminds me of drag racing. No real practical application. Look, mom. No hands! lol There will be consequences.
