I have had the release build on this, my best machine for a month now. Windows.old has been deleted ( I changed the number of rollback days with DISM ) The option to go back to Windows 10 is no longer available in Recovery. Apart from a Macrium Image there is no going back, not that I want to. I have the machine set up exactly how I want it and with a few tweaks I am loving Windows 11. I can honestly say I have never had any problems on 2 of my machines and only minor ones on the 3rd machine which was in the Insiders Dev channel, so that is to be expected..... Happy me

It's Funny Jeff, I have upgraded 4 machines and all fine, yet some people have awful problems. I guess it could be incompatible machines or dev builds, mine have always been Beta or release builds except in the early days of 11 I went into dev to get it early to see what it was all about.

I installed 22000.51 over Win10 as an upgrade. (From uupdump.net, not through the Insiders program. I'm bad.) The result was an unusable mess. (Windows Firewall was nonworking, and non-fixable, apparently.)

I went with a clean install, and it has been perfect since.

I hesitate to tell people that a clean install will solve all of their problems, but it could.

I installed 22000.51 over Win10 as an upgrade. (From uupdump.net, not through the Insiders program. I'm bad.) The result was an unusable mess....
I did exactly the same as a test run for transplanting my W10 and all its installed apps from a 10 year old unsupported machine to the laptop that is now my System One below. The result was a completely usable install of 11 that I ran for more than two months and used as my 'main machine'.

At the end of September I repeated the transfer of the W10 system and let it upgrade to the RTM release of 11 through Windows Update, again with no issues. It is now officially my 'main machine' and in daily use.

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

I've two success pc's, both 'unsupported', apps installed in W10. Both run w/ DEV, and finally to W11 Home. No complaints from me, or irregularities, that I wasn't able to resolve.

Did I say no complaints ?

My first one I joined the insiders dev and downloaded as an upgrade, worked fine ( machine was incompatible, but you could just ignor the warning in those days) It worked fine except the machine was slower than slow and had the usual dev problems, so back to 10. I bought another pc just to use for 11. I set it up on 10 and did a beta upgrade and it worked fine. This machine I waited for the official release and again upgraded from 10 and still everything went fine, so for me I recommend upgrading via windows update, I have done 4 machines now and never had a problem

Not complaining. I had similar issues with 10. Had to learn how to efficiently bring back a system after a clean install. I've gotten pretty comfortable with that.

I've not had any problems in 10 either. I have a half dozen or so machines from a wide variety of OEMs, so hardware can't be the issue. I avoid using any 3rd-party 'tweakers' though, perhaps that's why I've been so trouble-free?

My System One's OS started life as an OEM W7, took the upgrade to 10 in 2015, then had every feature update up to 21H1. Now transferred to its new hardware 'home' the OS upgraded to 11 without issue.

It's Funny Jeff, I have upgraded 4 machines and all fine, yet some people have awful problems. I guess it could be incompatible machines or dev builds, mine have always been Beta or release builds except in the early days of 11 I went into dev to get it early to see what it was all about.
Their issues could be due to loads of issues and all I know is that I've not had an issue when installing or upgrading to 11.
