No Weather Widget On Taskbar?

For those missing the widget weather app, make sure you have "Widgets" turned on in the taskbar settings.

Yep, mine is turned on but it's not appearing. No worries, I guess. I can tell the weather on my phone or watch.

I got mine after installing the latest CU (KB5010414). I'm also on the RTM version of Windows 11. BTW it also shows for Insiders as well.

When I turn on widgets I only have the widget icon on the left of my taskbar and it's asking me to login .
I just disabled it as I didn't want to login only to get weather. If the hole OS is working with a local account I don't understand why MS obliges you to login only for widgets to work!

Something sounds weird there, and the only guess I can come up with is if you're not using a Microsoft account to log into the PC.

This silly weather widget thread got me curious that so many were using the default taskbar setting of the centered start menu. After decades of the left corner I initially couldn't handle it centered but that silly weather icon and this thread got me curious so I've been running it centered for a couple days now as a trail and it's actually growing on me. I even re-enabled widgets in the registry to get the weather icon in the left corner now. Can't help wondering if that was a plan of MS to get people to accept a centered start menu lol.

Rarely is it ever so simplistic.

There's obviously something "broken" here, and it's very likely on the balance of probabilities that something else is also broken inside our Windows.

Yeah, I noticed this as well.

I just got my widget (partially) back. I changed the regional language to USA. It was set to Canada. The widget shows up (again) in the News Widget area but it's not appearing on the left corner despite changing my setting for the taskbar to centre view (which I dislike).

Additionally, these News Widgets (as I call them) seem to take up a lot of CPU resources. My laptop fans ramp up whenever I go there, and it's a laptop with decent specs.

I don't think it's working for anyone. I don't have it, either. It's in the Widgets, but not by itself.

Reading some of the other comments, it seems to be appearing at random times, which sounds odd to me. How many monitors are you running? I'm wondering if there's some strange multi-monitor weather app bug.

Reading some of the other comments, it seems to be appearing at random times, which sounds odd to me.

For anyone still missing the weather widget after installing KB5010414, try opening the Store and updating. That got mine to appear next time I signed in. In particular, make sure that your 'Local Experience Pack' gets updated, that seems to be the key one.

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.
