Hi, We have Norton 360 installed on our home PC's which we have used for many years and have found to be good (apart from the reminder screens and popups).
We were thinking about installing Malwarebytes as a second, on demand malware scanner. We would not have Malwarebytes running at startup and no Real-Time protection turned on. There seems to be conflicting opinions about the compatibility of the two programs installed side by side. If I understand correctly, if we downloaded the 14 day trial of Malwarebytes Premium, if we let the trial period lapse, the RealTime protection would be disabled? I understand that this protection can be stopped during the 14 day period but I'm not sure how this is done.
I would appreciate any opinions about having these 2 programs on the same PC.
Thanks
Mitch.

Hello, Mitch.

Windows Security Norton 360 and Malwarebytes will run perfect well together.

I run the Premium version of Malwarebytes alongside Windows Security. One thing I suggest you do/check, during your 'Trial Period' is to make sure Malwarebytes is not registered in the Windows Security Center. (See screenshot below)

Also, after the 'Free trial period' runs out, it will revert to standard free version, with no real-time protection.

Good luck.

EDIT ~ I should have written, that your Norton 360 will run alongside Malwarebytes, perfectly. My apology.

I ran Norton, together with Malwarebytes for a long time, without any issue whatsoever. But eventually switched to the baked in Windows Security plus Malwarebytes Premium.

Thanks WXC, I was about to ask about Norton 360 but you beat me to it :-). I think I will turn off all the real time items in Malwarebytes and just use it as a Malware scanner as needed. Norton 360 has Power Eraser which seems to work well, but we haven't (thank goodness) had any viruses or Malware, and we thought that a "second opinion" might be useful. We will use Malwarebytes over the next couple of weeks and see how it interacts with Norton.
Thanks again for taking the time to reply.
Mitch.
