Not receiving Windows update for Jan.

Hi,I have not received my windows update for jan. this month. Every thing is turned on for updates,I even ran the windows update troubleshooter. Computer is working just fine. First time this ever happened.

Use Windows Update Troubleshooter.

• Right-click on Start button and pick Settings
• Go to System > Troubleshoot
• Click on Other Troubleshooters > Windows Update and click Run button.

Download Windows updates manually.

• Go to the official Microsoft update catalog;
• Enter a specific update code, for example, KB4481031
• Select the correct version and click Download
• Click on the link and Windows will update your computer

Resetting the Windows Update components can usually solve these types of issues.

Windows 11 version 23H2 for Home and Pro editions reached end of support on November 11, 2025. Enterprise and Education editions are supported for one year longer, until November 10, 2026. After these dates, devices will no longer receive security or quality updates, and users should upgrade to a newer version, such as 24H2 or later.

I prefer using a version that no longer receives feature updates. It's nice being able to go several months or even years at a time without waking up to find everything is changed overnight and half my software no longer works. How can MS be so stupid as to refuse to offer a stable platform for people who want to run a static software set?

I guess it comes down to who you ask. I find 11 to be very stable.
WU addresses a lot more than "feature updates". I keep Windows updated because of the SECURITY holes WU patches.
I'm not one that believes my system is immune to the nefarious characters that are exploiting these security vulnerabilities.

Same. I have no issues with windows 11 in general.

The core kernel is very good. Windows 11 has always worked great out of the box if you take the proper steps prior to installing it.

A different POV:
For the record, I absolutely love the way Windows runs on my machine, now that I have only the features I need and my system is hardened. Not that I have to care, but MS definitely would not approve. Fortunately it's none of their business. My hardware. I have the final decision on what code is allowed to run on it. Nobody else. It's not a crime to take the spyware out of Windows, any more than it would be a crime to remove an illegally placed GPS tracker from your car.

Some people are wise to the obvious security risk of having constant telemetry, downloads, software installations that run with no input from the owner of the hardware. I don't tolerate files and applications that I can't control. I should NOT have to hack into my own computer in order to remove something I never asked for. Like the one that takes inventory of all your files and moves things off your computer without asking first? That's called OneDrive. Glad I got rid of it. Or maybe it's the prompt-injection hack they just discovered in CoPilot. Never allowed CoPilot to install on my machines. The more complex any system is, the more ways it can be broken. So why make Windows any more complex than it absolutely has to be for your intended purposes? To each his own.
