He has successfully accomplished this on other drives. I suspect he just needs to recreate and delete that unallocated partition again. Mintools Free is flawless in my opinion, but not the only way.

What program are those screenshots from,SIW2?

Unallocated space. Horses for corses. It’s basically what the OP called them so I went with it. Sometimes it’s just easier that way.

edit: Granted, I forgot to mention in my last post that a partition had to be created from the unallocated space before it can be deleted again.

Unallocated space is not inside a partition. That is what is meant by "unallocated". You cant delete a partition that doesnt exist

Not sure what you are trying to do.

Are you trying to do as indicated by the red arrow, or something else?

I wouldnt advise doing that, not worth bothering for a few mb.

You could have a look with another partion tool and see if that throws a light on why minitool is reluctant.

As I explained earlier, you need to create a partition See post #13 image 2.
Then delete it.
But, I wouldn't be touching that OS drive just yet until someone can explain why it ended up with those unallocated sections.

I only suggest this on disk 3 because you are saying you cannot resize disk 3?

take a look with diskgenius and post a screenshot might indicate why minitool was reluctant. Otherwise we will never know

That's the one; it is my primary system disk so I hesitate to mess with it at all; I do have a fresh image but....................

That explains it. Can't extend the os partition to the left from within windows because there is an msr and an esp between the os partition and the unallocated space.

No need, it is fine as it is
