Solved NVIDIA app does not run during startup

I just got my System 2 (Lenovo Legion) and I note that the NVIDIA app does not start when I boot up the machine, nor does it minimize to the system tray when I close it. I don't seem to find settings for this in the app. I _do_ have Manage Display Mode and Intel Graphics Software icons in the system tray though.

Any idea or thoughts?

1) Right click on the NVIDIA app in the Start Menu and select add to taskbar.

2) Right click on the Taskbar and select Task Manager in the pop-up menu.

3) On the left side of the Task Manager click on Startup Apps.

4) Click on Run New Task at the top of the screen and add NVIDIA app.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't really work. "Run New Task" just runs the program, doesn't add it to the startup list.

I did find a suggestion to add it to "shell:startup", but that just runs it at startup, doesn't add it to the System Tray...

This method forces any application to open at login.
  1. Find the Program: Click the Start menu and find the app. Right-click it, select More, and choose Open file location.
  2. Copy Shortcut: Right-click the application shortcut in the folder that opens and select Copy (or Ctrl+C).
  3. Open Startup Folder: Press Windows Key + R, type shell:startup, and click OK.
It might not add it to your system tray, though.

When I install the nVidia app, I can right-click on the nVidia Settings tray icon and choose either Settings or the App, they're both there.

That was what was missing from mine. The steps I found above put it back.
