Hi There,
I have an NVIDIA Geforce GT 730 video card running two monitors and I have been trying to update it's driver.
The driver is currently dated 23/03/2018 version 23.21.13.9135 which seems out of date when looking at the manufacturer's website.
I have tried the driver link listed on this site and also followed the selection path on the manufacturer's website and both come up with the driver being incompatible.
Any thoughts please?
Thanks
Paul

There should be a driver for the graphic card from the manufacturer of the computer.

If you haven't try automatic driver update tool.

Use DDU to completely remove your current driver and software. I caution you to be sure to follow the instructions for using DDU and don't forget to disconnect from the internet or disable windows updates until the new driver is installed. Download DDU here Display Driver Uninstaller Download version 18.0.5.1

Then install the driver @FreeBooter mentioned above. This is a WHQL driver as Nvidia no longer issues game ready drivers for that GPU. The GT 730 is on the list of GPUs that uses this driver. Read the release notes.

As mentioned above, that version didn't work. Also the slightly newer version I said I had downloaded was in fact the same as I already had installed so that didn't help.

It wouldn't be the first time for nVidia that the list of supported cards for a driver was inaccurate, if memory serves. 473.47 may be incompatible.

There seem to be several hardware variants, all labelled as GT 730. I wonder whether some of them are supported by 473.47?

Went to Windows update and that got back an even older driver than I had :)

Ran the update again and that got me back to the 2018 version that I started with.

Try running Windows Update. Maybe Microsoft can fix it.
Make sure to check if there is Optional video card driver updates.

Look on the bright side - at least Windows Update has given you drivers for the card. You're not stuck with the Microsoft Basic ones, which usually give poor performance.

Look on the bright side - at least Windows Update has given you drivers for the card. You're not stuck with the Microsoft Basic ones, which usually give poor performance.
LOL I guess so. It's just that I play AOE IV and I get a warning that my current video card is not compatible and check for driver updates.
I guess I can put up with that.
Time to put this one in the too hard basket.

That card is pretty old. The problem is mostly due to Microsoft attempting to "force" hardware upgrades, in some cases.
It's not "really" a DirectX12 vid card. I think this may be the problem. If that card is in a prebuilt computer, like maybe an HP or similar... you might want to check the manufacturer's (of the computer), website for a driver.

It would also be helpful to know, how the computer came to have Windows 11 on there in the first place?
Did you upgrade it to Win 11? Did the computer come with Win 11 on there already?

Another way to check would be to run: WhyNotWin11.exe from here...

Download and run: WhyNotWin11.exe ...then post a screen shot of the results.

/edit

It may even be an Age of Empires IV problem.
AOE IV was only released about 2 weeks after Windows 11 was officially released.

Just so we are clear... is Windows telling you it's "not compatible" or is just the game: AOE IV telling you it's not compatible?
