Hello,
I have an Intel(R) UHD Graphics 730 (128 MB) graphics card and an Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-14400 (2.50 GHz) processor.
What specific settings should I use in the "Recording" tab in OBS to ensure smooth, Full HD recordings—similar to the quality seen on television? I am looking to record content from streaming TV services (e.g., Netflix, Player, Polsat Box GO). Given my hardware specifications, which encoder, rate control mode (CBR, CQP, etc.), and FPS type would work best?

Good morning, wojtekmazgaj,

Perhaps running the auto-configuration wizard will help: Quick Start Guide | OBS

Kind regards,

Make sure you record at your monitor's maximum supported resolution for best image quality. Frame rate can be 25fps (Europe) or 29.97fps (USA). It doesn't have to be 60fps as your monitor. Also to avoid dropped frames use hardware acceleration, such as Intel QuickSync (QSV AVC or QSV HEVC). For the audio all you need is at least 128Kbps 16-bit Stereo. I use AC3 (Dolby Digital) 48KHz 192Kbps 16-bit Stereo. Keep in mind that due to DRM most browsers might display a black screen instead of the video. Use Firefox. It might be limited to 720p, but at least it doesn't display a black screen.

OBS is more geared to streaming... capturing content can be done, but usually uses more dedicated hardware and software.

OBS is more geared to streaming... capturing content can be done, but usually uses more dedicated hardware and software.
OBS Studio is perfect for both capturing and streaming. It can capture video from a monitor, from a webcam or a video input such as a TV tuner card. If you click "advanced" in codec selection you can select many codecs for video and audio, but as I said prefer those with hardware acceleration to avoid dropped frames. It is recommended to install ffmpeg so you have more codec and editing choice:

@wojtekmazgaj Have you tried your first capture yet? Are you satisfied with the quality of the capture? What were your capture settings? You can also buy a cheap HDMI-to-USB capture device to capture 1080p video from an external HDMI source such as a Digital TV tuner or a game console.
