O365 - What is actually installed on my pc? I do not want access ppoint etc... and as far as I can tell they are not installed. There were shortcuts for them but I deleted them. I assumed that if I ever chose Access then it would install. Today I spilled an entire cup of coffee :censored: on my desk and when I moved the kb I opened 50 instances of Access...
How do I get rid of it?
(again...yes it's not causing me problems but I don't want anything on my PC unless I actually want it on my pc...see my gaming.exe thread....)

One of my only complaints with Office 365 is that when you subscribe it installs everything and I'm 95% sure that it still only installs on your C drive.. You don't get a choice of just having Word and Excel, you get the entire suite. I wasn't happy about this years ago when SSD's were super small (I had an 80GB Intel X25-M2 Gen 2 back in 2009). Today I don't find it nearly as big of an issue as my primary C drive NVMe is now 2TB.

Seriously? Just ignore those you do not use - darn sight easier doing that rather than trying to install them later if you decide you do want them.

Not only that, it makes updates easier. MS would potentially have to issue updates separately which is more difficult than it sounds perhaps as there is quite a common core between the apps.

It comes from when SSDs were small so I was constantly getting rid of files. Still, I don't want programs on my pc if I don't install them. Not the end of the world though ~

I bought an inexpensive HP 15" Notebook a few months ago, $175. Main reason was it included with a year of Microsoft 365, the new name for Microsoft Office. The included apps:

All of the apps get installed by default. It's also odd because if you look at the Office 365 page and what's included, it never mentions Microsoft Access. But I can assure you, that my copy indeed installs Access on my PC (note, there is not a mac version, so on the mac you don't get access).

You can use the office deployment tool and the office configuration tool to make a customized install.xml file that you use with the office deployment tool to install just the components you want. This video here walks through the process.

Can you not Uninstall Office 365 from Programs and Features in Control Panel?
I Did a Clean Install of Windows 11 Pro on my Laptop and never looked
to see if there was a Setup for Office 365 included with Win11.

I wanted Office 365 installed, but I wanted a Version with Publisher included
so, I purchased a Card at Office Depot.
I do know there is an Uninstall of Office 365 in Programs and Features now,
after installing the Version of Office 365 I purchased!

Did you buy a machine that came with Office pre-installed?

If you installed yourself, I would go to control panel and uninstall Microsoft 365 - en-us (that's how it shows on my machine). Then reinstall using the office customization tool and office deployment tool to just get outlook, word and excel

No, I install from office.com or whatever it's called. Obviously, it installs the whole suite. Thanks for the info...didn't know that existed.

You can install all the Office 365 apps as web apps and not pay Microsoft for using them. Of course if you need them locally installed, a subscription may be more convenient.

There are almost-equivalent web apps for the MSOffice applications but they do not have all the functions of the MSOffice applications themselves.

All the best,
