I just spent the last hour uninstalling and reinstalling Office 2021 only to get the same error. Any help would be appreciated.
Yesterday, when I decided to do a manual MS Office Update, I expedted to either get a message that Office was "up-to-date" or else would trigger an update download. Instead I received "Something went wrong...We're sorry, we ran into a problem while looking for updates. Please check your network connection and try again later. Error Code: 30088-27". I got no help from MS support page(s). I ran a manual update on another machine and didn't get the error.
This morning, I ran a quick repair (from Windows/Apps) and it completed but did not repair the update error. Next, I selected/executed the online repair and it failed...saying that a configuration file was missing.
I uninstalled Office, and ran a Office scrub tool (selecting all versions just in case). It completed successfully and I restarted my machine and reinstalled Office. I did a manual update and the first time it was successful, and updated to version 2406 (17726.20126). However, when I run the manual update again, I get the same error. Is this just a current update bug, or is there something else I need to check (registry entry?...I don't see any issues in firewall)? Much appreciated.
