Solved OneDrive?

Hi,

Is it safe to disable it on startup, since I don't use. Keeping it as it is has no impact on my laptop.

If you don't use it, uninstall it from the Control panel. Personally I use OneDrive to backup all my files and know they're safe.

Reason being I don't trust keeping my research/personal files saved on OneDrive, I save them to local pc and than transfer to an an ext USB HDD.

Can I disable OneDive in task manger on startup, since I don't use it or can disabling it affect the OS?

If possible, make an extra backup on another drive and store it in at a different location.

@Alexey2912, I have my important files backed up on OneDrive, so OneDrive is my off-site location. My suggestion to you is because if your data and the backup of your data is stored at the same location, one disaster such as a fire could destroy all of your data. With offsite storage once you have a working system and all of your programs installed, it's just a matter of loading the data from the off-site storage.

So many times, we get post from users who lost files that are irreplaceable and want suggestions on how to restore their files. I feel so sorry when we can't help them. Not having the files backed up is just as bad as not having an offsite backup. When the data is gone, the data is gone, and nothing is going to bring them back.
