I'm using it as my default browser, but I don't like it pre-installed. I want to install the latest version manually after logon.
It's faster than official chrome and has more settings which I like.

you can easily remove each part of script but remember to edit the services too.

as you can see script is very simple and you can remove each part you want.
edit services too I have disabled defender services as well.

I don't use Defender it uses so many resources. instead, I bought an ESET license. it has plenty of features and also very light.

I don't see where I'd get a huge drop, here's my system idling. Until I hit PrintScr, it was hovering around 2-3%. I'm using 28% of my memory, so that's not an issue either.

I don't know why but after using this preset for NTLite, windows explorer stops working! can anyone help me find the cause?

Funny story, I started out buying 32GB, but I mistakenly ordered a single 32GB memory stick instead of the 32GB "kit" I was intending to get. I realized my mistake and since returning it was going to be a hassle, I just ordered another 32GB. It was the cheapest option to get two banks of memory. I wasn't willing to take the performance hit of half the memory bandwidth once I realized my mistake. :sleep:

Truthfully, IMO 8GB is marginal for Windows nowadays, I'm sure that contributes to needing to trim Windows. I stick to a minimum of 16GB for stuff like my mini-PC video controller, and any desktop or laptop gets at least 32GB. It is impressive you can make it run decent in 8GB. (y)

if your windows image is not modified, then remove those "dism" and "sfc" commands for repairing. they are useless on a fresh image.

It would seem that some people cannot grasp the concept of being able to disable entries/features in your script.

YUCK! I just picked up my new laptop from Amazon, it comes with 32GB and a 2TB NVMe drive. Price was too good to pass up, and my old laptop is over ten years old and started out with Windows 7 and got updated to 8.1, then to 10. It's also on it's 3rd battery and that needs replacement, so I thought it was time for a new one.
